Fox, denied June 3, 1964, was subml'ttedo Mro Backlund, 1015 East North Street, addressed the Council expressing his reasons why~in his opinion~the sidewalk waiver should be granted° He called attention to the fact that with the widening of North Street, the property owners in this area installed curbs and landscaped the embankment created by the lowering of the street, [urther, in his opinlon~ a 70 foot sidewalk in the middle of this area would be of no benefit ~o pedestrians, and would detract from the beauty of the street. ] At the conclusion of the discussion, Councilman Krein moved that the action taken June 3~ 1964~ denying waiver of sidewalk requirements be rescinded~ and that a temporary waiver of sidewalk requirements be granted iOOV East North Street subject to no permanent planting in the area reserved for future sldewalks~ and further subject to termination of said waiver on demand ~or sidewalks by the Clt¥~ Councilman $chutte seconded the motion.
