MOTION CARRIED. W~ARRANTS AND DENtANDS: Councilma~ Van Wagoner reported demands against the city amounting to $149~377.28. Councilman Wi~ser moved that report of Finance Committee be accepted and that warrants be drawn upon the Treasurer to pay said demands in accordance with report. Councilman Schu~te seconded the motion. MOTION CARRIED. CONTINUED PUBLIC HEARING: F-53-54-10: South Los Angeles Street between West Vermont Avenue and Ball Road. Rezone frontage on South Los Angeles Street to a P-L Zone for a depth of 60 feet and the ~ear of the P-L Zone to be rezoned C-1. RESOLUTION NO. 236~ Councilman Schutte ioffered Resolution No. 2369 changing the zone classification of the property bounded on the North by Vermont Avenue, on the East by South Los Angeles Street, on the South by Ball Road, and on the West by Lemon Street from R-A to C-l, with a 60 ~oot P-L Zone surrounding the entire parcel and subject to conditions as outlined. THAT A CHANGE OF ZONE IS NECESSARY IN CE~AIN AREAS OF THE CITY AND THAT ARTICLE IX, CHAPTER 2 OF THE ANAHEIM AUNICIPAL CdDE SHOULD BE AMENDED TO ACCOMPLISH SAID CHANGE OF ZONE. PUBLIC HEARING: ORDINANCE NO. 881: Public Hearing was held on the intention of the City Council to vacate and abandon an easement for road purposes upon, over and across and along the easterly 15 feet of ~he southerly 1289.11 feet, more or less, of the NE~ of the ~ of Section 8, T-4-S~ R-lO-Wy S.B.B. & M. City Hall~ Anaheim~ q_a. lifornia.~ March 23~ 1954- 8:00 P.M, Mr. Harry Wilson and others, appeared before the Council to obtain infor- mation regarding the pipe line~ He stated that on several occasions the pipe lines have been damaged, and wished 4o know if the old users of the line woul~ be protected in the abandonment of the easterlY 15 feet of the southerly 1289.11 feet, as outlined in the proposed abandonment proceedings. Action was withheld Until such time as the Subdivider provides a road giving them ingress and egress tO their property. FINAL MAP. TRACT NO, 2021; On motion by Councilman Van Wagoner, seconded by Councilman Wisser, Final Map of Tract No. 2021 was accepted, subject to conditions and requirements of the Engineering Department. (Lots 409 to 423, inclusive for a Shopping Center). City Planning CommisSion approved said Tentative Map, March 22, 1954, sub- ject to the following condition, s: 1. Deeding to the City of Anaheim of 20 feet for the widening of West La Palma Avenue. 2. Deeding to the City of Anaheim of 10 feet for the widening of Brookhurst Street. 3. Payment of $25.00 per iot for the acquisition of Park and Recreation Sites. 4. Engineering requi~ements. On motion by Counciln~an Van Wagoner, seconded by Councilman Wisser, Tentative Map of Tract No. 2093 was acce~ted, subject to conditions as outlined .by the City Planning Commission. MOTION CARRIED. RTY: City Planning ~mmission at their Adjourned Regular Meeting held March 15, 1954, recommended to the City Council that provision be.made in the 1954-55 budget for the purchase of proPerty bounded by North Citron, West Wilhelmina, North Palm and West Sycamore Streets for a future Civic Center. Said recommendation was submitted, read and ordered placed on file. F-53-Q4-16: C. A. Zimmerman.~ ~equests reclassification from R-3 to C-2 on property designated as 801-819 South Los Angeles Street. City Planning Commission, Resolution No. 56, (53-54) recommended denial :of said reclassification for the following reasons: 1. The applicant aftmr the first hearth9 verbally asked that the r~quested reclassification be changed from C-2 to C-1.. 2. The majority of the Commission believed that owing to the opposition expressed by other property owners in the area~ a new reclassification should be instituted and again advertised so that all 'might be apprised of the revision. APPEAL FROM ACTION TAKFN by the City Planning Commission, submitted by Mr. C. A. Zimmerman, owner, dated M~rch 20, 1954 was submitted and read, The City Attorney ruled that the Council could not consider his request for the C-1 Zone because that had not been before the City Planning Commission. They Could set date for Public Hearing on the C-2 requested reclassification, or Mr. Zimmerman could withdraw his application for C-2 zoning and file :a' new application with the City Planning CommissiOn changing his request rca C-1 zoning. -On motion by Councilm~n Wisser, seconded by Councilman Van Wagoner, Hearing was continued until such time aS Mr. Zimmerman decides his request to be C-2, or files for a C-1 zone reclassification.
