1951/01/31 80 City Hall. Anaheim. California. January 31. 1951 - 7:30 P.M. The City Council of the City of Anaheim met in Special Called Session at 7.30 o'clock P.M.. January 31.1951. All members of the City Council were duly notified, and written notice was given to all members of the City Council moro than three hours prior to the holding of laid meeting. The purpose of the meeting waa related to all members of the City Ccuncil of the City, to-wit. acknowleding receipt of a petition for the annexation of certain uninhabited territory to the City of Anaheim and giving notice of such proposed annexation, describing the bound- aries of the territory propoaed to be annexed. and giving notice of the day, hour and place when any person owning real property within such territory so proposed to be annexed ~ appear before the Oity Council and show cause wh1 such territo~ should not be annexed to the City of Anaheim, which meeting was called by the Mayor. PRESENTATION OF PETITION: George E. Holyoke, City Engineer presented to the Cit7 Clerk and Clerk of the City Council a petition for annexation to the City of Anaheim, with description of property contain$d therein. Said petition was thereupon submitted and read to the City Council. Petition for the annexation of terri10ry to the City of Anaheim as described in said peti tion to be known as EUCLID AVENUE .ANNEXATION. Said annexation was discussed by the City Council and Mr. George E. Holyoke, City Engineer submitted evidence relative to the sufficiency of the signatures to the petition; the assessed valuation of the property and inhabitation; there are no registered voters residing upon the property to be annexed. It was found that the Feti1ion was signed by the owners of not less than i of the area and not less than t of the valuation, and that said territory did not form a part of any municipal corporation, and that the property is contiguous to the City of Anaheim, and that it was uninhabited, and that the signers of the petition were among those owners and constituted more than i of the ownership. Determination was made by the City Council that the petition for annexation was signed by not less than i of the area and not less than i of the assessed valuation of the land in the territory proposed to be annexed, and that said property did not form a part of any municipal corporation and that it was uninhabited at the time of filing said petition and is contiguous to the present city limits. Resolution No. 1817 was thereupon offered for adoption by Councilman Boney, motion seconded b~ Councilman Van Wagoner. On roll call Resolution No. 1817 was duly passed and adopted by the following vote of the members thereof: AYES: COUNCILMIN: Pearson. Wisser, Boney and Van Wagoner. NOES: COUNCILMEN: None. RESOLUTION NO. 1817: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM ACK1~OWLEDGING RECEIPT OF A PETITION FOR THE ADEXATION OF CERTAIN UNI:NHA:BITED TQ.RITORY TO THE CITY OF ANAHEIM GIVING NOTICE OF SUCH PROPOSED ANNEXATION, DESCRIBtNG THE BOUNDARIES OF TEE TERRITORY PROPOSED TO BE .ANNEXED AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE DAY, HOUR AND PLACE WHERE AND WHEN ANY PERSON OWNING REAL PROPERTY WITHIN SUCH TER!ITORY SO PROPOSED TO BE A.NNEXED MAY APPEAR BEFORE THE CITY COUNCIL .AND SHOW CAUSE WHY SUCH TERRITORY SHOULD NOT BE ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF ANAHEIM. Councilman Van Wagoner moved that said appointment be ratified with the provisions that he successfully pass a physical examination. Councilman Boney seconded the motion. MOTION QARRI}JD. Authorization to attend City Managers' Convention in San Jose, February 22, 21 and 23rd by Keith Murdoch, City Administrative Officer was granted on motion by Councilman Bo..y seconded by Councilman Van Wagoner.
