An employee eligible for sick leave with pay shall be granted such leave for the following reasons: (a) personal illness or physical incapacity re- sulting from causes beyond the employee's control; (b) enforced quarantine of the employee in accordance with community health regula.tions; or (c) the death of a member of the employee's immediate family. An employee on sick leave shall inform his immediate superior of the fact and the reason therefor as soon as possible, and failure to do so within a reasonable time may be cause for denial of sick leave with pa:r for the per i od of a.bsence. 3. An employee receiving sick leave with pay who simultaneously receives compensation under workmen's compensation laws or through a sick benefit plan financed in whole or part D7 his employer shall receive, for the period of sick leave to which he is entitled only that portion of his regular salary which will, together with said corrpensation, equal his regular salary. 4. Officers and em~loyees who are in the service of the Oity at the time this rule takes effect shall be entitled to an accumulation of sick leave at the rate of 6 days for each full year of prior service not to exceed a total of )0 days. 5. Sick leave with pay in excess of three consecutive working days for reasons of personal illness or physical incapacity shall be granted only after present- ation of a written statement by a reputable physician certifying that the employee's condition prevented him from performing the duties of his position. Appropriate forms for such a statement will be furnished by the Oity Olerk. A RESOLUTION OF THE OITY COUNOIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM DIRECTING CITY REPRESENTATIVE TO HAVE DUTY TO SIGN COMPLAINTS AGAINST ZONING LAW VIOLATORS. WHEREAS, orderly and effective law enforcement is essential to the public interest. and WHEREAS. past practice in the field of enforcement of zoning has relied almost entirely upon the signing of required complaints by private citizens in the case of alledge violations of the City's zoning law, and WHEREAS. such practice not only subjects such citizen complainants to possible damage or other action for performing a public service properly the obligation of the city, it also tends to develop neighborhood discord, NOW. THEREFORE, EE IT RESOLVED, that the Administrative Officer of the City of Anaheim be, and he is hereby directed, to designate an appropriate staff member or members to be identified by office held, whose directed duty it shall be, as re- presentative of the Cit~rt to sig;l a:ny complaint necessary to initiate enforcement pro- ceedings in matters of alleged violation of the City's zoning laws whe, upon appropriate investigation it is deemed that a violation exists and enforcement is necessary to preserve the public interest, and FINALLY RESOLVED, that a staff member, so designated and so acting, shall be acting to discharge an official duty in the service of, and in the behalf of, the City of Anaheim. On roll call the foregoing Resolution was duly passed and adopted by the following vote: AYES: COUNCIL~~N: Pearson, Wisser, Heying, Boney and Van Wagoner. NOES: COUNCILMEN: None. ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: None. The Mayor declared Resolution No. 1834 duly passed and adopted. Councilman Boney moved to adjourn. Councilman Van Wagoner seconded the motion. MOTION CARRIED. ADJOURNED.
