COUNCIL OF THE
SENATE BILL NO.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim
believes that local affairs should be controlled by local
government; and
WHEREAS, Senate Bill No. 1414, if passed into law,
will constitute a direct intrusion into local affairs; and
WHEREAS, Senate Bill No. 141'4, if passed into law,
will cause a drastic and harmful change in the relationship
between a City and its employees.
NOW,'THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that the City of Anaheim expresses by
this resolution its absolute opposition to Senate Bill No.
1414 and to the principles contained therein which intrude
into local affairs.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the. City of Anaheim
supports the improvement of local law enforcement by local
authorities.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council is
of the opinion that Senate Bill No. 1414 is irresponsible
in that it drastically increases the cost of law enforcement
but makes no provision for funding such increased costs.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by me
this 3rd day of June, 1969.
