AHA2006/04/25 ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA ANAHEIM HOUSING AUTHORITY MEETING APRIL 25, 2006 The Anaheim Housing Authority met in regular session. PRESENT: Chairman Curt Pringle, Authority Members: Richard Chavez, Lorri Galloway, Bob Hernandez and Harry Sidhu STAFF PRESENT: City Manager David Morgan, City Attorney Jack White, City Clerk Sheryl I Schroeder. - A copy of the agenda for the meeting of the Anaheim Housing Authority was posted on April 21, 2005 at the City Hall outside bulletin board. Chairman Pringle called the regular meeting to order at 5:30 P.M. in the Council Chambers of Anaheim City Hall, 200 South Anaheim Boulevard. ADDITIONS/DELETIONS TO THE AGENDA: None PUBLIC COMMENTS: No comments offered during the joint Council/Redevelopment Agency/Housing Authority public comment session related to the Anaheim Housing Authority. Following public comments, Chairman Pringle recessed the Housing Authority at 5:45 P.M. to consider the Redevelopment Agency agenda, and reconvened the Authority session at 5:46 P.M. CONSENT CALENDAR: Authority Member Hernandez removed Item No.4 for further discussion. Authority Member Chavez moved to approve the balance of the Consent Calendar, seconded by Authority Member Hernandez. Roll call vote: Ayes - 5; Chairman Pringle, Authority Members: Chavez, Galloway, Hernandez and Sidhu. Noes - O. Motion carried. 5. Approve and authorize the Executive Director to execute an Exclusive Negotiation 4006 Agreement by and between the Anaheim Housing Authority and SADI, LLC, for the proposed development of 53, 100% affordable housing units at 111 and 125 Elm Street. 6. Approve the regular meeting minutes of March 28, 2006. END OF CONSENT CALENDAR: 4. Approve and authorize the submittal of the Anaheim Housing Authority's application to 0155 U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for $126,032 for two existing Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) Program Coordinators, and if selected, authorize the Executive Director to execute all related documents and amend the Fiscal Year 2006-2007 budget accordingly. ANAHEIM HOUSING AUTHORITY MINUTES April 25, 2006 Page 2 Authority Member Hernandez requested this item be brought to the public's attention to highlight a program that made a difference in people's lives. Elisa Stipkovich reported Item No.4 was a version of Section 8 Housing Voucher Program in which the tenant would participate in a program that would ultimately get them off Section 8 housing through training and child care assistance. She added the FSS program worked in conjunction with the Workforce Investment Group which provided the training and as that training became successful, the tenants earned more income to be able to get off Section 8. Authority Member Hernandez moved to approve application submittal to HUD, seconded by Authority Member Galloway. Roll call vote: Ayes - 5; Mayor Pringle, Council Members: Chavez, Galloway, Hernandez and Sidhu. Noes - o. Motion carried.
