RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA, AUTIlORIZING CERTAIN OF ITS
MEMBERS TO FILE A WRITTEN ARGUMENT AGAINST A
CITY MEASURE.
WHEREAS, a regular general municipal election is to be held
in the City of Anahe~ on April 12, 1966, at which there will be submitted
to the qualified electors of said City the following City measure:

SHALL THE CHARTER OF THE CllY OF ANAHEIM BE AMENDED r I
BY ADDUKi A NEW SECTION TO READ AS FOLLOWS:
Section 402. The City shall have no
power to, and shall not operate, initiate
or control any commercial enterprise,
including but not l~ited to retail estab-
lishments, restaurants, electricity,
vending enterprises, manufacturing busi- YES
nesses, without submitting a plan for
same to a vote of the qualified electors
of the City and securing a two-thirds
approval therefrom.
This Section shall not include the
operation of water supply, garbage and
trash pickup, where necessary to protect
the public welfare, nor existing golf
courses, sports stadiums and convention
centers.
This Section shall be deemed to be
in full force and effect thirty (3D) days
from the date of its passage, and the City
shall have a period of three years from ,NO
passage to divest itself of such interests
unless retention is specifically authorized
by the required vote of the electorate.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Anaheim,
California, DOES.HEREBY RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND ORDER, as follows:
SECTION 1. That this City Council, being the legislative body
of the City of Anaheim, hereby authorizes
Fred T. Krein
Calvin L. Pebley
Jack C. Dutton
A. J. Schutte
Odra L. Chandler
members of said body, to file a written argument against the City
measure set forth in the recitals hereof in accordance with Article 4,
Chapter 3, Division 4 of the Elections Code of the State of California
and to change said argument until and including the date fixed by the
City Clerk after which no arguments for or against said City measure may
be submitted to her.
