RESOWTION NO. 66R-I09
A RESOWTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING
THE EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT WITH STANDARD
OIL COMPANY OF CALIFORNIA, wiTH REI'EBENCE
TO SCOBEBOARD ADVERTISING SPACE.
WHEBEAS, the City of Anaheim intends to erect a
stadium designed for public assembly, which when completed will
constitute a recreation center for the exhibition of major
league baseball and other sporting events such as professional
football and high school and college athletic contests, and for
the exhibition of dramatic productions and other public events
for the benefit of the City of Anaheim and its inhabitants; and
WHEREAS, the City intends to erect a Giant "A" score-
board structure; in said stadium in order to provide information
to those in attendance at such events in said stadium and to
make said stadium usable for said events; and
WHEREAS, Standard Oil Company of California desires to
advertise on said scoreboard, and the City desires to permit
Standard Oil Co~any to erect and maintain two advertising signs
on said Giant "A' scoreboard upon the terms and conditions and
for the consideration set forth in a certain agreement this day
submitted to the City Council to be made and entered into between
the parties.
NOW, THEREFOBE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that the agreement this day s~biD1tted to
the City Council to be made and entered into bI and between the
City of Anaheim and Standard Oil Company of Ca ifornia wherein
and whereby Standard Oil Company of California is granted the
right and privilege to erect ana maintain two advertising signs
on said Giant "A" scoreboard for the term and sum, and upon
the terms and conditions set forth in said agreement, be, and
the same is hereby approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk
be, and they are hereby authorized to execute said agreement
for and on behalf of the City of Anaheim..
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved. and signed by me
this 8th day of February, 1966.
