69R-037A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING
THE EXECUTION OF THE GRANT AGREEMENT WITH
THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA FOR THE OMNIBUS
CRIME CONTROL AND SAFE STREETS ACT OF 1968.
WHEREAS, the California Council on Criminal Justice
is the agency of the State of California designated and
directed by Chapter 1661 Statutes 1967, approved September 2,
1967, and directed by Governor Ronald Reagan to administer
provisions applicable to the. State of the Federal. Act known
as the. Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968
(P.L. 90 -351, 82 Stat. 197) hereinafter referred to as ACT.
The California Council on Criminal Justice, among other
things, is charged with initiating, administering, coordinating,
and implementing requests for federal grants, and approving
sub grants to certain government agencies to aid in the general
improvement of law enforcement and the administration of
justice, provided said projects net the criteria established
in accordance with provisions of ACT; and
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim under the terms and
provisions of said ACT and the rules and regulations promulgated
by said Council on Criminal Justice has applied for a grant
approved in the amount of $3,000.00, based upon an estimated
total cost of $4,000.00, to be used by the City for an approved
project and under the provisions of the said ACT; and
WHEREAS, the California Council on Criminal Justice
has reviewed said application and has determined that the
Project is in accordance with the purposes and meets all the
requirements of said ACT and the rules and regulations of
said Council on Criminal Justice promulgated pursuant thereto;
and
WHEREAS, the State of California, California Council
on Criminal Justice has submitted to the City a Grant Agreement
to be made and entered into between the State and the City
providing for the making of said Project grant in the amount
of $3,000.00 to the City of Anaheim, upon the terms and
conditions therein set forth, which Agreement the City Council
finds would be in the best interests of the City and should
be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that the Grant Agreement this day
submitted to the City of Anaheim by. the State of California,
California Council on Criminal Justice to be made and entered
into between the parties, providing for a Project grant to
the City of Anaheim in the amount of $3,000.00, upon the
terms and conditions therein set forth, be, and the same is
hereby approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk
be, and they are hereby authorized to execute said Agreement
for and on behalf of the City of Anaheim.
