RESOLUTION NO. 66R-106
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM CHANGING 'THE NAME OF
BATAVIA STREET, IN THE CITY OF ANAHEIM,
TO RIVERDALE AVENUE.
WHEREAS, on January 17, 1966, the City Planning
Commission did duly adopt its Resolution No. 1918, Series
1965-66, recommending to the City Council that in order to
create less confusion to the public and give continuous streets
in .adjoining cities the same name, the name of Batavia Street,
in the City of Anaheim, should be changed to Riverdale Avenue;
and .
WHEREAS, the City Council finds .that the City of
Orange has changed the name of Batavia Street within the
boundaries of said City to Riverdale Avenue; and
... .
WHEREAS, the Orange County Street Naming Commdttee
has recommended that continuing streets from one.' city to
another retain the same name;' and
WHEREAS, after a thorough study of the matter the
City Council does find that the assignment of the name "River-
dale Avenuell to Batavia .Street, located within the City of
Anaheim between the Santa Ana River and the Riverside Freeway,
and extending from the city limits of the City of Or~ge west
of Jefferson Street easterly to the city limits of the City of
Anaheim, will result in less confusion to the public, and that
by reason of the .foregoing facts, public convenience and neces-
sity require that sald name be changed.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by. the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that the name of Batavia .Street, in the City
of Anaheim, extending from the city limits of the City of Orange
west of Jefferson Street easterly to the. .city limits of the City
of Anaheim, be, and the same is hereby changed to Riverdale
Avenue.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by
me this 8th day of February, 1966.
