A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM
DEt!(rAlUNG THE NECESSITY. PURSUAN't 'l'O GOVERNMENT CODE
SECTION 39576.5, TO CONTBACT FOR THE RlM>VAL OF WEEDS
AND BANK GBOWTH GBOWING UPON PUBLIC STREETS AND VACANT
LOTS, CALLING FOR BIDS THEREON. AND AUTHORIZING PUB-
LICAXION OF NOTICE mEREFOR, WRK OBDER NO.. 426-297.
WBEBEAS, 'l'b.e City Council has heretofore declared all
weeds and rank growth growing upon public streets aDd vacant lots
within the City of Anaheim. to be a nuisance; and
WHEBEAS, Govermnent Code Section 39576.5 authorizes
the City Council to abate such nuisance by award;f.ug a contract on
the basis of competitive bids for the remeval of such weeds and
rank growth; and
WBEBEAS, the City CoUDci1 finds that public convenience
and necessity require that such weeds and rank growth be removed as
quickly as possible because of the noxious nature thereof, and further
finds the foregoing can best be accomplished by awarding a contract
therefor as aforesaid.
NOW, THEREFORE. BE IT RESOLVED by the City Co\U1cil of
the City of Anaheim. that all weeds and rauk growth growing upon
public streets am vacant lots within the City of Anaheim. be removed
therefrom by contract on the basis ef competitive bids, and that said
bids shall include the furnishing of all labor and equipment to cut
and remove all weeds and rank growth upon all lots and areas within
the City of Anaheim. as directed by the Superintendent of Streets.
AND BE IT .l!"uJ.<t~R RESOLVED that said bids shall specify
unit prices for the following area designations:

BE IT FtJBXHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City
of AJ1aheim be. and she is hereby, authorized and directed to publish
a notice according to law, inviting sealed proposals for the furnish-
ing of all labor and equipment to cut and remove all weeds and rank
growth upon all lots and areas within the City of Anaheim as directed
by the Superintendent of Streets, and fixing the 14th day of April,
1966, at the hour of 2:00 P.K. as the date and hour for the opening
of said bids at the City Council Chamber in the City Hall of the City
of Anaheim, and that said notice shall be published twice; the first
of which publications shall be at least ten (10) days prior to the
date fixed for the opening of bids, and that said publications shall
be at least five (5) days apart.
AND BE rr FURTHER RESOLVED that the successful bidder or
bidders shall be required to enter into a contract with the City of
Anaheim in the manner and form approved by the City Attorney of the
City of Anaheim for the furnishing of the labor and equipment and the
performance of the work contemplated in said bid i11 accordance with the
notice inviting sealed proposals, this resolution, and all applicable
City Ordinances or Code Sections, and the laws of the State of California
and shall be required to post bonds and insurance in the amounts and
within the time :r::equired by law as sp ecified in the notice inviting
'sea1ed proposals, and in a form approved by the City Attorney.
