66-431WHEREAS, Section 517 of the Charter of the City of
Anaheim provides for contracting for publication of legal
notices, ordinances and other matter required to be published
in a newspaper of general circulation in the City, and provides
that such contract may be let for a period of not less than one
(1) year and no more -than three (3) years, and further provides
that in the event there is more than one (1) newspaper of
general circulation published within the City, the contract
shall be made only after publication of the notice inviting
bids therefor.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that the City elects to publish a notice
inviting sealed proposals for advertising for a one (1) year
period, and as an alternate requesting proposals for advertising
for a three (3) year period, and also requesting proposals for
legal advertising to be done by the City required by law to be
published in a newspaper of general circulation printed and
published outside of said City within the County of Orange for
a period of one (1) year.
BE IT FURTHER. RESOLVED That the City Clerk and City
Attorney be and hereby are authorized and directed to open said
proposals in the City Council Chamber immediately following the
closing time for submittal of bids, and to report said bids to
the City Council at the next regularly scheduled Council Meeting.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED That all of said publishing
shall be done in conformity with the specifications for
advertising, marked and designated "Specifications for Printing
and Advertising of the City of Anaheim, Series of 1959 on
file in the Office of the City Clerk, which specifications are
hereby approved and adopted as specifications for the proposals
to be submitted.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by
me this 21st day of June, 1966.
