A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING
THE EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT WITH THE
STATE OF CALIFORNIA, DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC
WORKS, DIVISION OF HIGHWAYS, WITH REFER-
ENCE TO THE CONSTRUCTION AND MAINTENANCE
OF A TRAFFIC CONTROL SIGNAL SYSTEM AND
HIGHWAY LIGHTING AT THE INTERSECTION OF
PALAIS ROAD WITH STATE HIGHWAY ROUTE
07- ORA -72 0.5 (ANAHEIM BOULEVARD).
WHEREAS, the State of California and the City of
Anaheim contemplate the joint installation of a traffic control
signal system and highway lighting at the intersection of Palais
Road with State Highway Route 07- Ora -72 0.5 (Anaheim Boulevard),
within the City of Anaheim, and desire to enter into an agree-
ment specifying the proportionate share of the costs that are
to be borne by the City and the State and providing for the
maintenance thereof; and
WHEREAS, the State of California has submitted to the
City Agreement #2018 providing for the installation of said
traffic control signal system and highway lighting, specifying
the proportionate share of the costs to be borne by the City and
the State and arranging for the maintenance thereof, as more
particularly set forth in said agreement; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it would be for
the benefit and best interest of the City to enter into said
agreement with the State and that the same should be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that Agreement #2018 submitted to the
City by the State of California, Department of Public Works,
Division of Highways, providing for the installation of a
traffic control signal system and highway lighting at the
intersection of Palais Road with State Highway Route 07 -Ora-
72 0.5 (Anaheim Boulevard), within the City of Anaheim, upon
the terms and conditions and for the proportionate share of
the costs set forth therein, be and the same is hereby approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk
be, and they are hereby authorized to execute said agreement
for and on behalf of the City of Anaheim.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Finance Director be
and he is hereby authorized and directed to:
(a) Pay the City's share of the costs of construction of
said traffic control signal system and highway light
ing, as provided in said agreement estimated to be
$4,000, the actual amount of the City's share to be
determined after award and completion of the con-
struction contract; and
(b) Reimburse State for City's proportionate share of
the cost of general maintenance and operation of
said traffic control signal system and highway
lighting in the manner provided in that Agreement
for Maintenance of State Highways in the City which
is in effect at the time said costs arise, as
provided in said Agreement #2018.
