A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING
THE EXECUTION OF "LEASE OF LAND" BETWEEN
THE ATCHISON, TOPEKA AND SANTA FE RAILWAY
COMPANY AND THE CITY, WITH REFERENCE TO
CERTAIN LAND SITUATED AT OR NEAR PLACENTIA,
COUNTY OF ORANGE, TO BE USED FOR ENCROACH-
MENT OF EMBANKMENT SLOPE.
WHEREAS, the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway
Company, a Kansas corporation, has tendered to the City of
Anaheim a "Lease of Land," dated April 1, 1966, for a term
beginning April 1, 1966 and ending when said lease shall be
terminated, as provided therein, leasing and permitting the
City of Anaheim to use certain land exclusively as a site for
the encroachment of embankment slope, subject to the rights
and easements therein excepted and reserved, and upon the terms
and conditions therein set forth, said land being situated at
or near Placentia, Orange County, California, and outlined in
red coloring on the print attached to said lease numbered
L -3- 27948, dated March 29, 1966, and marked "Exhibit A and
WHEREAS, said lease has this day been submitted to
the City Council for consideration, and the City Council does
find and determine that it would be for the benefit and best
interest of the City of Anaheim to enter into said lease with
said Railway Company.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that the above-mentioned "Lease of
Land" tendered to the City of Anaheim by The Atchison, Topeka
and Santa Fe Railway Company, a Kansas corporation, leasing
and permitting the City of Anaheim to use certain land exclu-
sively as a site for the encroachment of embankment slope,
subject to the rights and easements therein excepted and
reserved, and upon the terms and conditions therein set forth,
the land being situated at or near Placentia, Orange County,
California, and outlined in red coloring on the print attached
to said lease, numbered L- 3- 27948, dated March 29, 1966, and
marked "Exhibit A," be, and the same is hereby, approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED. that the Mayor and City Clerk
be, and they are hereby, authorized to execute said lease above
mentioned for and on behalf of the City of Anaheim.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by
19th day of April, 1966.
