A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF TILE
CITY OF ANAHEIM ADOPTING TI-IE PRECISE ALIGN
MENT OF RIVERDALE AVENUE BETWEEN THE RIVER-
SIDE FREEWAY AND TAYLOR STREET.
WHEREAS, the Engineering Division of the Public Works
Department has prepared a Precise Alignment of Riverdale Avenue
extending from the center line of the Riverside Freeway easterly
approximately 1,955 feet to the westerly boundary of Tract No.
5409 in the City of Anaheim, and from the easterly boundary of
Tract No. 5409 easterly appproximately 2,654 feet to Taylor
Street within the County of Orange, as shown on Exhibit "B" on
file in the Development Services Department of the City of
Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission of the City of
Anaheim did hold a public hearing on August 15, 1966 to consider
the adoption of a Precise Alignment of Riverdale Avenue from the
Riverside Freeway easterly approximately 1,955 feet to the west-
erly boundary of Tract No. 5409, within the City of Anaheim, and
at said gearing did receive evidence and reports from persons
interested therein; and
WHEREAS, following said hearing thereon the Planning
Commission did duly adopt a resolution containing a report of
its findings, a summary of the evidence presented at said hear-
ing, and a recommendation that the Precise Alignment of Riverdale
Avenue from the Riverside Freeway easterly approximately 1,955
feet to the westerly boundary of Tract No. 5409, within the City
of Anaheim, as shown on Exhibit "B, be adopted by the City
Council, and that the City Council recommend to the County of
Orange the establishment of a Precise Alignment of Riverdale
Avenue from the easterly boundary of Tract No. 5409 easterly
approximately 2,654 feet to Taylor Street, as shown on said
Exhibit "B"; and
WHEREAS, upon receipt of said resolution, summary of
evidence, report of findings, and recommendation of the City
Planning Commission, the City Council did fix the 27th day of
September, 1966 as the time and the Council Chamber in the City
Hall of the City of Anaheim as the place for a public hearing
upon said Precise Alignment of Riverdale Avenue from the River-
side Freeway easterly approximately 1,955 feet to the westerly
boundary of Tract No. 5409, within the City of Anaheim, and
did give notice thereof in the manner and as provided by law;
and
WHEREAS, at the time and place fixed for said public
hearing the City Council did duly hold and conduct such public
hearing and did give all persons interested therein an opportu-
nity to be heard, and did receive evidence and reports and did
thereupon consider the recommendation of the City Planning
Commission; and
WHEREAS, the City Council does find and determine that
the Precise Alignment of Riverdale Avenue from the Riverside
Freeway easterly approximately 1,955 feet to the westerly
boundary of Tract No. 5409, within the City of Anaheim, as shown
on Exhibit "B," on file in the Development Services Department,
should be adopted, and the County of Orange urged to establish
a Precise Alignment of Riverdale Avenue from the easterly
boundary of Tract No. 5409 easterly approximately 2,654 feet
to Taylor Street as shown on said Exhibit "B."
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that the Precise Alignment of Riverdale
Avenue from the Riverside Freeway easterly approximately 1,955
feet to the westerly boundary of Tract No. 5409, in the City of
Anaheim, as shown on Exhibit "B" on file with the City of
Anaheim, Development Services Department, be, and the same is
hereby adopted; and that the City Clerk be, and she is hereby
directed to forward to the Board of Supervisors of Orange
County, California, a certified copy of this resolution,
together with a copy of said Exhibit 'B."
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council does
hereby recommend to the County of Orange the establishment of
a Precise Alignment of Riverdale Avenue from the easterly
boundary of Tract No. 5409 easterly approximately 2,654 feet to
Taylor Street as shown on said Exhibit "B."
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Planning Department
be, and it is hereby, instructed to amend the Circulation
Element of the Streets and Highways on the General Plan Map
to conform with said Precise Alignment of Riverdale Avenue
herein adopted.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by
me this 27th day of September, 1966.
