The event will be held on April 301n from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. in conjunction with the Muzeo, and will feature local artists. Commissioner Vicknair inquired about the El Verano Apartments; Ms. Walters explained the site used to be the Sandman Motel and that seniors are charged on a sliding scale depending on their income. They have mostly one -bedroom units and a few two -bedroom units and they are fully leased with a waiting list through the Anaheim Housing Authority. • Joe Pak from Sharon Quirk-Silva's office spoke with the commission and offered his assistance with senior issues, and he also answered questions about the Korean War Memorial that was recently installed in Fullerton. Active Older Adult Program — Healthy Living Fair — Wendy Hernandez reported that Chair Brown asked her to share information with the commission about the Healthy Living Fair that is going to be held on Saturday, May 14 and inquire whether any of the commissioners would be willing to host a table. She noted that the Senior Citizen's Club will be hosting their craft boutique at the Community Senior Citizen Commission March 17, 2022 Page 2 AGENDA ACTION TAKEN Center on the same day. She did remind the commissioners that only three members can be present at one time to avoid having a quorum. Commissioner Real asked if there would be transportation provided for seniors to this event; Wendy stated that they hold resource fairs at the three different sites. Although they usually serve seniors Monday to Friday, if transportation is needed for this event, they will work with their provider to see if they can accommodate them. Commissioner Vicknair asked how they would market their table to entice the people to stop by and talk to them. Commissioner Yagar suggested having a flyer for a seminar ready to distribute. Wendy stated that city commissions don't generally provide outreach services, they are an advisory board, but they can decide to do so if they wish. She suggested that they could provide a sign for the table to advertise who they are. Wendy stated that they would need to make the decision today since they don't meet again before the fair. Vice -Chair McCracken noted that the purpose could simply be to educate the seniors that the commission exists and asked whether there were volunteers. Commissioner Yagar suggested that they could take a poll of the seniors about their concerns and volunteered to attend.
