A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION
OF AN AMENDMENT TO THAT CERTAIN CONTRACT
FOR GEOLOGICAL ENGINEERING AND CONSULTATION
SERVICES ENTERED INTO ON JANUARY 26, 1965
BETWEEN THE CITY OF ANAHEIM AND DAMES AND
MOORE.
WHEREAS, a contract was entered into by and between
the City of Anaheim and Dames and Moore on the 26th day of
January, 1965, wherein Dames and Moore agreed to furnish to
the City of Anaheim geological engineering inspection and con-
sultation services in connection with the construction of the
Walnut Canyon reservoir and dam; and
WHEREAS, as work progressed on said reservoir faci-
lity, it was revealed that necessary investigation of dam
foundation material warranted additional geological engineering
services; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has approved amendments to
said agreement authorizing the extension of such services to be
performed; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it is necessary
that such services be furnished over a further period of time,
and that said contract be further amended; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the additional
services, not included in the original estimate of costs
necessitate an increase in the total amount of compensation for
such services beyond the present estimated amount.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that Paragraph 8 of the agreement made
and entered into between the City and Dames and Moore on
January 26, 1965 be amended to provide that the total amount of
compensation shall not exceed $78,000.00; and that the cost to
the City shall not exceed this amount without its prior written
approval.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the amendment of
October 19, 1965 to the contract for geological engineering and
consultation services entered into on January 26, 1965 between
the parties be amended to provide that the City shall pay to
Dames and Moore for the full -time services of an associate
geologist at the rate of $560.00 per week; that the "full
time services" above referred to shall mean 45 hours per week;
and that if more or less time than 45 hours per week is required
for the associate geologist, the hourly rate shall be $12.50
and shall be added or deducted from the weekly rate as the case
may be.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk
be and they are hereby authorized to execute an amendment to
said agreement dated January 26, 1965, for and on behalf of
the City of Anaheim, as hereinabove provided.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by
