Do not click links or open a?achments unless you recognize the sender and are expec?ng the message. Hello! I am an Ashkenazi Jew and I urge you to pass a ceasefire resolu?on. The Talmud (Sanhedrin 37a) teaches us, “Whoever saves a single life is considered by scripture to have saved the world.” Ceasefire is about basic human rights and not taking sides. This war has been deadly to hostages on both sides, and many Israeli Jews with family members who are hostages have been the loudest voices for ceasefire. Besides, we are starving children, and all children are our children. This is a local issue because it is being gunded by local taxes, and because of Anaheim’s par?al status, once informal, now official, as “Li?le Arabia.” According to CAIR-LA, which I have had the privilege of doing interfaith work with several ?mes, there has been an over 2000% increase in hate incidents against Arabs, Muslims and Pales?nians since Oct 7. With my own eyes I have seen mul?ple cars with Israeli flags inten?onally ram into protestors holding Pales?nian flags. I cannot emphasize enough that the local pro-Pales?ne movement is about basic human rights for Pales?nians, and not about us as Jews. It is not an?semi?c. I know many involved Pales?nians—some Chris?an—as well as other involved Arabs and Muslims, and I would avoid them like the plague if they hated Jews, or worked with people who do. My extended family never even got to the concentra?on camps, but rather was massacred in one of my European ancestral villages. I have read the heart-rending and nausea?ng survivor tes?mony. I have heard the Nakba stories of local Pales?nian-American families and they are every bit as terrible. This is Zionism. I don’t like that it is true, but it is, and saying that Zionism is a violent and oppressive poli?cal ideology is not an?semi?c any more than calling an abusive family member abusive is abuse. Thank you for listening- Alexandra Noyes 1
