66-802WHEREAS, the Orange County Street Naming Committee
has requested that, in order to create less confusion to the
public and give continuous streets the same name in all Cities
and County territory, a change should be made in the names of
certain streets in the Carolina Kraemer Dowling Glassell Street
alignment, and that the name "Kraemer Boulevard" should be
assigned to that portion of said street alignment north of the
Riverside Freeway, and the name "Glassell Street" to that por-
tion of said alignment south of the Riverside Freeway; and
WHEREAS, after a thorough study of the matter, the
City Council does find that the assignment of the name "Kraemer
Boulevard" to Dowling Avenue, in the City of Anaheim, will re-
sult in less confusion the public, and that by reason of the
foregoing facts, public convenience and necessity require that
said name be changed.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that the name of Dowling Street; in the City
of Anaheim, be changed to Kraemer Boulevard, and that said
change be made at such time as the jurisdictions northerly of
the Riverside Freeway agree to the street name change to Kraemer
Boulevard,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council recommend,
and it does hereby recommend, to the City of Brea that Carolina
Avenue be renamed "Kraemer Boulevard," and does further recom-
mend to the City of Orange and the County of Orange that Dowling
Avenue, within each jurisdiction, be renamed "Glassell Street."
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by me
