Pursuant to the California Public Records Act ("CPRA") (Gov. Code, § 6250 et seq.), and Article One, section 3(b) of the California
Constitution (constitutional right to public records), we hereby request that the City of Hanford ("City") provide us with copies of the following
public record documents relating to the Code Enforcement Case (COD2023-05874):
1. Reports created
2. Any and all communications between: city staff, legal counsel to the city, members of Code Enforcement, members of Building Division
and City Council, the renter, and the landlord.

subd.d).) A "writing" means any handwriting, typed, printed, or photocopied comments that are transmitted by electronic mail, regular mail,
hand-delivery or facsimile. (Ibid., subd. (g).)
If, for some reason, the City withholds any documents responsive to our request we ask that the City separately identify the record(s)
withheld and provide us with a written explanation of the claimed justification for withholding the record(s), as required by section 6255 of
the Government Code. (See Gov. Code, § 6255, subd. (a);International Federation of Professional & Technical Engineers, Local 21,
AFL-CIO v.Super. Ct. (2007) 42 Cal. 4th 319, 329. Please include a factual basis for asserting the exemption. If a court finds that public
records have been improperly withheld, we will seek attorney fees pursuant to Government Code section 6259. (See Gov. Code, § 6259,
subd. (d).)
