A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM AMENDING THAT CERTAIN CONTRACT
ENTERED INTO AS OF JULY 1, 1962 BY AND
BETWEEN THE CITY OF ANAHEIM AND ANAHEIM AREA
VISITOR AND CONVENTION BUREAU FOR PROMOTIONAL
AND ADVERTISING WORK TO BE DONE AND PERFORMED
FOR THE CITY.

WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim did as of July 1, 1962
enter into a contract with Anaheim Area Visitor and Convention
Bureau for certain promotional and advertising services to be
done and performed by said Anaheim Area Visitor and Convention
Bureau for the City, as more particularly set forth in said
contract; and
WHEREAS, it was the intention of the City Council
that the provisions of said contract should include, in the
promotional and advertising services to be performed for the
City, solicitation calls by personal contact through travel
to headquarters of prospective conventions; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that through
inadvertence or oversight this provision was omitted from said
contract; and
WHEREAS, the City Council does further find that the
sum of $17,000 set forth in said contract to be paid to said
Anaheim Area Visitor and Convention Bureau, to be used for
advertising and promotional services, should be changed to
$18,500; and
WHEREAS, the City Council does find that said contract
should be amended as indicated in the preceding paragraphs, as
of July 1, 1962.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that the agreement heretofore made and
entered into as of the first day of July, 1962, by and between
the City of Anaheim and Anaheim Area Visitor and Convention
Bureau for the performance of certain promotional and advertising
services by said Anaheim Area Visitor and Convention Bureau for
the City, be and the same is hereby amended as follows, effective
as of July 1, 1962:
1. That Paragraph No. 1 of said agreement be and
the same is hereby amended to read:
"1. The City does hereby designate and appoint
Anaheim Area Visitor and Convention Bureau, Agent
for and on behalf of the City, to promote and
encourage the growth of the City of Anaheim and
promote the holding of conventions and encourage
visitors to come to the City of Anaheim, provide
registration services, pre- registration services,
registration badges and badge holders, rent and
provide bulletin -size typewriters for registration
use and provide program covers, advertise conventions
and promote by solicitation calls, including
personal contact through travel to headquarters
of prospective conventions, and suitable literature
and brochures the logic of choosing Anaheim for a
convention site, and to spend funds of the City
of Anaheim for advertising and promotion in the
amounts and for the purposes authorized and approved
by the City Council or the City Manager, not
exceeding the sum hereinafter set forth."
2. That Paragraph No. 2 of said agreement be and the
same is hereby amended to read:
"2. The City does hereby agree to pa y to the
Agent an amount not to exceed the sum of Eighteen
Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($18,500.00) to be
used for advertising and promotional purposes, as
more particularly set forth in Paragraph 1 hereof,
in such amounts and at such times as shall be
authorized and approved by the City Council or
the City Manager."
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that in all other respects said
contract shall be and remain in full force and effect.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk
be, and they are hereby authorized and directed to execute an
amendment to said contract for and on behalf of the City of
Anaheim amending said contract as hereinabove set forth.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by me
this 11th day of December 1962,

ABSENT: COUNCILMAN: Schutte
AND I FURTHER CERTIFY that the Mayor of the City of
Anaheim approved and signed said Resolution No. 62R -1068 on the
llth day of December, 1962.
