A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT PUBLIC CON-
VENIENCE AND NECESSITY REQUIRE THE CONSTRUCTION
AND COMPLETION OF A PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT, TO WIT*
FURNISHING AND INSTALLING TRAFFIC SIGNALS AND
SAFETY LIGHTING TOGETHER WITH APPURTENANCES.
AT THE INTERSECTION OF_JINCOLli WEST AND CENTS•
STREETS,. IN THE CITY OF_ANAI-iE IN PROJECT NO._ 78,
AND APPROVING THE DESIGNS, LN PRO I
DRAWINGS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION
THEREOF4 AUTHORIZING THE CONSTRUCTION OF SAID
PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT IN ACCORDANCE WITH SAID PLANS,
SPECIFICATIONS, ETC,; AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECT-
ING THE CITY CLERK TO PUBLISH A NOTICE INVITING
SEALED PROPOSALS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION THEREOF
WHEREAS, :p't;.b i convenience and necessity require the con
struthon and completion of a public improvement in the City of Ana
helm, to ti
Furnishing and installing traffic signals and safety
lighting at the intersection of Lincoln Avenue, West
and Center Streets, in the City of Anaheim, including
the construction of curbs and sidewalks, paving and
appurtenant work, as more particularly set forth in
the plans and specifications on file in the Office of
the City Engineer or City Clerk, Project No. 78.
AND WHEREAS,, the City Council. instructed Thornton E. Piersall,
City E gineer to prepare detailed designs, plans, profiles,
drawings and speel fications, and estimates of quantities and costs
and make necessary surveys for the construction of said public im-
provement and
WHEREAS, said City E ngineer has prepared said detailed de-
signa, plans, profiles, drawings and specifications for the construc-
tion of sad public improvement and has submitted the same to the City
Council and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the detailed designs,
plans, profi.es, drawings and specifications for said public improve
ment above mentioned are in accordance with good engineering practice
and are adequate to se eve the needs and requirements of the City of
Anaheim and the citizens and residents in said area for the purposes
for which they are intended, and that they are adequate for the con
str +nation of said pub'.l.ic improvement and should be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Anaheim that the detailed designs, plans, profiles, drawings
and specifications for said public improvement hereinabove mentioned
and described be and the same are hereby, approved and adopted as

AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said public improvement
shall be constructed in accordance with said detailed designs,
plans, profiles, drawings and specifications as prepared by said
City En ineer and hereby approved, and such addenda or
mod fications thereto as may be approved prior to the awarding of
bids therefor.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City
of Anaheim be, and she is hereby, authorized and directed to pub-
lish a notice according to law, inviting sealed proposals for the
furnishing of all plant, labor, services, materials and equipment,
and all utilities and transportation, including power, fuel and
water, and performing all work necessary to construct and complete,
in a good and workmanlike manner, in strict accordance with. said
detailed designs, plans, profiles, drawings and specifications as
prepared by said City Engineer the public improvement
hereinabove mentioned and described, and fixing the 14th 'day of
April 19 60 at the hour of 2 :00 o clock F.M.
as the date and hour or the opening of said bids at the City
Council Chamber in the City Hall in the City of Anaheim, and that,
said notice shall be published twice, the first of which publications
shall be at least ten (10) days prior to the date fixed for the open-
ing of bids, and that said publications shall be at least five (5)
days apart
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the successful bidder or
bidders shall be required to enter into a contract with the City of
Anaheim in the manner and form approved by the City Attorney of the
City of Anaheim for the construction, installation and completion
of said public improvement hereinabove mentioned and described, in
accordance with the plans and specifications prepared by said
Cit Engineer the notice inviting sealed proposals, this

the laws of the State of California, and shall be required to post
bonds and insurance in the amounts and within the time required by

form approved by the City Attorney.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION was approved and signed by me this

and that said successful bidder or bidders to whom each contract is
awarded shall be required to furnish a surety bond in an amount equal
o one hundred per cent (100%) of the contract price forTall labor,
laterials and equipment to be furnished and performed, as set forth
in the sealed proposal submitted by said bidder for the construction
of said public improvement, together with the appurtenances thereto
or such portion thereof as is covered by said contract,. as security.
for the faithful performance of said contract and a separate surety
bond in an amount equal to one hundred per cent (100%) of the con-
struction cost of said public improvement covered by said
as security for the payment Of all persons performing laborand fur-
nishing material for said project.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said successful bidder or
bidders be, and they are hereby required to furnish to the City of
Anaheim in companies satisfactory to the City of Anaheim,7„public_lia-
bility, property damage, compensation, and other insurance in the
amounts and' for the purposes as set forth and specified in the notice
inviting sealed proposals, and subject to the approval of the City
Attorney as to form and sufficiency.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and the. City Clerk:
of the City of Anaheim.be, and they are hereby, authorizei and
directed to make, execute and enter_into, for and_on.behalf.of the_
City of_Anahefm, a. Written_contract with said successful bidder_or
bidders for the.furnishing of all plant, labor, materials, and equip-
ment and performing all work, as hereinabove more particularly des-
cribed, for the construction, installation and completion of said
public improvement hereinabove described upon the terms and conditions
as specified in the notice inviting sealed proposals, the detailed
design, plans, profiles, drawings and general specifications andzde
tailed specifications and drawings, and all addenda thereto, and all
modifications incorporated therein prior to the date of the opening
of bids, on file in the office of the City Clerk of the_CIty.:of.Ana-
heim and in strict accordance with the terms, conditions and provisions
of this resolution, and in accordance with all of:the contract:docu-
ments herein specified.
