1960-5928RESOLUTION NO. 5928 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM EMPLOYING LeROY CRANDALL ASSOCIATES TO MAKE A SOIL INVESTIGATION AND ANALYSIS SURVEY FOR PROPOSED WATER TRANSMISSION MAINS. WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim is in need of special ser- vices for soil investigation and report along the proposed City of Anaheim Transmission Mains as set forth on Drawing No. R- 15 -TH; and 7IREAS, LeRoy Crandall Associates has submitted a bid proposal for performing such special services; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim finds that LeRoy Crandall Associates hes the necessary qualifications and abilities to perform the special services required in said soil investigation and analysis and that the proposal as submitted by said LeRoy Crandall Associates is a fair price to pay for the special services; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim that LeRoy Crandall Associates be, and it is hereby, employed for special services in the City of Anaheim for investigating the soil conditions along the alignment of the proposed City of Anaheim Transmission Mains as indicated on Drawing No. R- 15-TH, on the following terms and conditions: LeRoy Crandall Associates will Derform the following services: 1. Drill 20 borings ranging in depth from 15 to 30 feet below the existing ground surface along the proposed alignment. 2. Each boring will extend approximately 5 feet below the planned invert grade. 3. At the locations of Borings 14 and 15, situated in the Santa Ana River Bed, casings will be in- stalled to permit future observations of water levels. Finance Engineering Dir of Public Utilities 4. Provide all equipment and supervision necessary to make the borings. 5. Log soils encountered and obtain undisturbed samples for laboratory testing and. inspection. 6. Make laboratory and engineering analyses. 7. Submit a final report incorporating logs of the borings and results of the laboratory tests, excavation requirements, backfill requirements, pipe bedding requirements and trench stability data at the completion of the investigation and testing. 8. Submit an itemized statement of costs and charges in connection with the above outlined services. The City of Anaheim will: 1. Pay the sum as set forth in the itemized bill for the services rendered after audit and approval by the City Council of the City of Anaheim, provided, however, that such figure shall not exceed the sum of $3,250.00, and it is estimated that such sum shall not be less than 2,750.00. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that upon audit and approval of the itemized statement for services rendered, the City Auditor is hereby authorized and directed to ray said bill for services rendered.
