A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM EMPLOYING JOHN H. DAWSON AS SPECIAL
COUNSEL TO ASSIST THE CITY ATTORNEY IN THE
ACQUISITION BY CONDEMNATION OR OTHERWISE OF
REAL PROPERTY BY THE CITY OF ANAHEIM FOR PUBLIC
PURPOSES AND TO ASSIST THE CITY ATTORNEY IN THE
HANDLING OF PROSECUTION OF OTHER MATTERS AS THE
COUNCIL SHALL FROM TIME TO TIME DIRECT.

WHEREAS, the City Council has heretofore adopted
resolutions directing the acquisition by condemnation or other-
wise of a number of parcels of real property for and on behalf
of the City of Anaheim to be used for public purposes; and
WHEREAS, the City Council does find and determine
that the acquisition of said properties and the preparation and
filing of condemnation actions entail a great deal of time and
work and that it would be to the advantage and for the best
interest of the City of Anaheim to employ special counsel to
assist the City Attorney in such work and to assist the City
Attorney in other litigation or matters as the City Council
shall from time to time direct; and
WHEREAS, the City Council does find and determine
that John H. Dawson is an attorney at law duly admitted to
practice in all the courts of the State of California and has
special knowledge and training in the prosecution of condemna-
tion actions and in municipal law, and is a proper person to
employ as such special counsel.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that John H. Dawson of Santa Ana,
California, be, and he is hereby employed as Special Counsel
to assist the City Attorney and the City of Anaheim in the
preparation and filing of condemnation actions and the acquisi-
tion of property by condemnation and in the prosecution and
handling of such other actions or matters as the City Council
shall from time to time direct, and to do and perform all things
necessary and proper in the prosecution of said actions or the
handling of said matters.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said John H. Dawson shall
be compensated for his services as follows:
For all services rendered in the negotiation of
said matters or the preparation of actions for
filing in court and all matters except the actual
time spent in the trial of actions at the rate of
$25.00 per hour.
For the time actually spent in the trial of said
actions or the appearance in court at the rate of
$225.00 per day.
