RESOLUTION NO. 62R 47
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE EXE-
CUTION OF AN AGREEMENT TO BE MADE AND ENTERED
INTO WITH SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA BASEBALL ASSOCIA-
TION FOR THE USE OF LA PALMA PARK FOR A BASE-
BALL GAME.
WHEREAS, Southern California Baseball Association
has heretofore held exhibition baseballgames at La Palma
Park in the City of Anaheim during the month of February of
each year, the proceeds of said game being for the benefit
of the Medical Association; and
WHEREAS, said baseball association desires to conduct
an Exhibition Medical Baseball Game on February 4, 1962, or in
the event of cancellation because of rain, on February 11,
1962; and
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim is willing to permit
said association to hold its Exhibition Medical Baseball Game
at La Palma Park in the City of Anaheim at a cost to said
association equal only to the actual expenses incurred by the
City because of the use of La Palma Park by said association;
and
WHEREAS, said association is willing to reimburse
the City on the basis of cost statements submitted by the
City to said association, for any and all costs incurred
by the City directly or indirectly allocable to said Exhibition
Medical Baseball Game; and
WHEREAS, the City and said association desire to
enter into an agreement for the use of said La Palma Park by
said association; and
WHEREAS, a form of agreement has this day been
submitted to the City Council for its consideration, and the
City Council does find and determine that it would be for
the benefit and best interest of the City to enter into said
agreement with Southern California Baseball Association, and
that the same should be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that the agreement this day submitted
to the City Council to be executed by the Southern California
Baseball Association and the City of Anaheim for the use of
La Palma Park by said association for the purpose of holding
and staging an Exhibition Baseball Game, subject to the covenants
and agreements therein contained, be and the same is hereby,
approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk
be, and they are hereby, authorized to execute said agreement
for and on behalf of the City of Anaheim.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by me
this 16th day of January, 1962.
