1962-0325RESOLUTION NO. 62R -325 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT PUBLIC CONVENIENCE AND NECESSITY REQUIRE THE PURCHASE AND ACQUISITION OF CHAIRS FOR ANAHEIM PUBLIC LIBRARY, BRANCH NO. 1, LOCATED AT 2650 WEST BROADWAY, WORK ORDER NO. 4500b; APPROVING THE SPECIFICATIONS THEREOF; AND DIRECTING THE PUBLICATION OF A NOTICE INVITING BIDS FOR THE FURNISHING OF SAID CHAIRS. WHEREAS, the City Council does find and determine that public convenience and necessity require the purchase and acquisition of chairs for Anaheim Public Library, Branch No. 1, located at 2650 West Broadway, in the City of Anaheim; and WHEREAS, the City Council does further find that the specifications prepared and submitted to the City Council by the Library Director for said chairs are adequate for the purpose and should be approved; and WHEREAS, the City Council does find and determine that a notice should be published inviting sealed proposals for the furnishing of said chairs in accordance with the specifications prepared by the Library Director and hereby approved. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim that the specifications for said chairs hereinabove mentioned, be, and the same are hereby, approved and adopted as prepared by said Library Director. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that there shall be purchased for delivery at the Anaheim Public Library, Branch No. 1, located at 2650 West Broadway in the City of Anaheim, the following approximate quantities and types of chairs: ITEM QUANTITY DESCRIPTION 1. 36 Chairs, 17" in seating height of Northern Hard Rock Maple, Finish No. 824; Sjostrom No. 264 or compa- rable. 2. 8 Chairs, 16" or 17" in seating height as determined by table heights of Northern Hard Rock Maple, Finish No. 824; Sjostrom No. 264 or compa- rable. 3. 24 Juvenile Chairs, 14" or 15" in seating height as determined by table heights of Northern Hard Rock Maple, Finish No. 824; Sjostrom No. 264 or comparable. 4. 60 Chairs 18" in seating height, Herman Miller DSS plastic shell chairs. Parchment Color. Base with side hooks for ganging. Bright plated tube base. Assembled. -1- AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be, and she is hereby, authorized and directed to publish a notice in the Anaheim Bulletin, in the manner and form required by law, inviting sealed proposals for the furnishing and delivery of said chairs above described, and directing that said sealed proposals will be received at the Office of the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim up to the hour of 2:00 P.M. on the 19th day of April, 1962. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the successful bidder or bidders shall be required to enter into a contract with the City of Anaheim in the manner and form approved by the City Attorney of the City of Anaheim for the furnishing and delivery of said chairs hereinabove mentioned and described, in accordance with the specifications prepared by said Library Director, the notice inviting sealed proposals, this resolution and all applicable City Ordinances or Code Sections and the laws of the State of California, and shall be required to post bonds in the amounts and within the time required by law, as specified in the notice inviting sealed proposals, and in a form approved by the City Attorney.
