A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM FINDING AND DETERMINING
THAT BIDDING ON THE POLICE FACILITIES
BUILDING AND THE CENTRAL PUBLIC LIBRARY
BUILDING AS A COMBINED PROJECT IS IN THE
BEST PUBLIC INTEREST, AND AUTHORIZING AND
DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO PUBLISH A
NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS FOR THE
CONSTRUCTION THEREOF AS A COMBINED PROJECT.
WHEREAS, the City Council did heretofore find and
determine that public convenience and necessity required the
construction and completion of a Police Facilities Building of
concrete and masonry, located at Harbor Boulevard and Santa Ana
Street, Anaheim, California, Work Order No. 4600, and did approve
the designs, plans, profiles, drawings and specifications for
the construction thereof; and did authorize the construction of
said public improvement in accordance with said plans, profiles,
drawings and specifications; and
WHEREAS, the City Council did heretofore find and
determine that public convenience and necessity required the
construction and completion of a concrete frame and masonry,
two -story and basement Central Library Building, located at
the southwest corner of Broadway and Harbor Boulevard, in the
City of Anaheim, Work Order No. 4501, and did approve designs,
plans, profiles, drawings and specifications for the construction
thereof; and did authorize the construction of said public
improvement in accordance with said designs, plans, profiles,
drawings and specifications; and
WHEREAS, both of said projects are being advertised
and bids are being invited individually for said projects; and
WHEREAS, the City Council does find and determine that
it would be to the advantage of and in the best public interest
to allow bids for the two projects as a combined project so that
bidders may bid separately on either or both projects and may
also bid on the two projects as a combined project with a single
bid for such combined project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim
be, and she is hereby, authorized and directed to publish a
notice according to law, inviting sealed proposals for the
furnishing of all plant, labor, services, materials and equipment,
and all utilities and transportation, including power, fuel and
water, and performing all work necessary to construct and complete,
in a good and workmanlike manner, in strict accordance with the
detailed designs, plans, profiles, drawings and specifications as
prepared by the Architects for the individual public improvements,
to wit: a Police Facilities Building of concrete and masonry,
located at Harbor Boulevard and Santa Ana Street, Anaheim,
California, Work Order No. 4600, Smith, Powell Morgridge,
Architects; and a concrete frame and masonry, two -story and
basement Central Library Building, located at the southwest

corner of Broadway and Harbor Boulevard, in the City of Anaheim,
Work Order No, 4501, Joe Jordan and Associates, Architects; and
fixing the 5th day of April, 1962, at the hour of 2 :00 o'clock
P.M. as the date and hour for the opening of said bids at the
City Council Chamber in the City Hall in the City of Anaheim,
and that said notice shall be published twice, the first of which
publications shall be at least ten (10) days prior to the date
fixed for the opening of bids, and that said publications shall
be at least five (5) days apart.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the successful bidder
or bidders shall be required to enter into a contract with the City
of Anaheim in the manner and form approved by the City Attorney of
the City of Anaheim for the construction and completion of said
public improvements hereinabove mentioned and described, in
accordance with the plans and specifications prepared by said
architects, the notice inviting sealed proposals, this resolution
and all applicable City Ordinances or Code Sections and the laws
of the State of California, and shall be required to post bonds
and insurance in the amounts and within the time required by law,
as specified in the notice inviting sealed proposals, and in a
form approved by the City Attorney.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by me
this 6th day of March, 1962.

do hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was introduced
and adopted at a regular meeting provided by law, of the City
Council of the City of Anaheim, held on the 6th day of March,
1962, by the following vote of the members thereof:
AYES: COUNCILMEN: Chandler, Coons, Fry, Thompson
and Schutte.
NOES: COUNCILMEN: None.
ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: None.
AND I FURTHER CERTIFY that the Mayor of the City of
Anaheim approved and signed said resolution on the 6th day of
March, 1962.
