RESOLUTION NO. 62R -178
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM URGING THE GOVERNOR OF
THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA. TO INCLUDE IN HIS
SPECIAL CALL OF THE LEGISLATURE DURING
1962 THE CONSIDERATION OF LEGISLATION
CONCERNING THE RELATIONSHIP OF THE STATE
LAWS TO LOCAL ORDINANCES.
WHEREAS, it has come to the attention of the
City Council of the City of Anaheim that there is a
growing tendency on the part of the State to pre -empt
local ordinances; and
WHEREAS, the Carol Lane case has caused con-
fusion in the enforcement of local ordinances;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City
Council of the City of Anaheim that it urge, and it
does hereby, urge the Governor of the State of Calif-
ornia to include in his Special Call of the Legislature,
during the 1962 session thereof, the consideration of
legislation concerning the relationship of State laws
to local ordinances to the end that local control be
returned to the municipalities and other local agencies
throughout the State.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and
signed by me this 20th day of Februa._ry, 1962.

NOES: COUNCILMEN: Chandler.
ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: None.
AND I FURTHER CERTIFY that the Mayor of the City
of Anaheim approved and signed said resolution on the 20th
day of February, 1962.
