Dear neighbor,
I believe that tax cut policy should focus on working families, not billionaire s. Earlier this month,
Congress passed H.R. 1, which gave the largest tax cut ever to America’s t op 0.1%. These tax cuts
were paid for by cutting Medicaid, SNAP, and other essential services t hat working families across
the nation depend on and adding to our national debt for our children t o pay for. Working families
and our children will pay for the tax cut.
I voted no on H.R.1 because I believe that everyone should pay their fair share. I am committed to
lowering costs for working families. As we address this bipartisan effort in Congress, I w ant your
opinion.
I WANT YOUR OPINION:
Should Congress cut taxes for working families?

As I work with my colleagues in Congress to cut taxes for working fa milie s, I will keep your
thoughts in mind. My job is to bring your voice to Washington, and I w ant to continue hearing from
you as Congress considers taking action.
Sincerely,
Rep. Lou Correa

Dear Neighbor,
This week I was back in Washington pushing for common sense solutions to help hard-working
Orange County taxpayers on Main Street. I personally met with VA Secret ary Doug Collins and pushed
for the VA to better support our veterans here in Orange County, introduced legislation to protect
consumers and students, stood up for our immigrant neighbors, and fought to support those
struggling with mental health challenges. It was a busy week back in Washington, so I wanted to take
a moment to show you what I’ve been working on.
PUSHING FOR VA CEME TERY IN ANAHE IM
This week, during a meeting with Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Secretary Doug Collins, I urged
the VA to move forward with building Orange County’s first ever veterans’ cemetery in Anaheim. When
it comes to our military heroes, all gave some, and some gave all. A VA cemetery in Orange County will
allow thousands of our servicemen and women to be laid to rest back home. This cemetery building
effort is supported unanimously across our district. I’ll keep fighting to get this job done.

I also introduced the Consumer OPT-IN Act to make sure Americans can choose how they spend their
money. It takes one second to sign up for online subscriptions, which can end up costing hundreds of
dollars–or more–each year, but it can be nearly impossible to cancel these subscriptions. My
legislation would create an easy option for consumers to ‘click to cancel’ t o ensure that hard-working
Americans are only spending their money on subscriptions they actually w ant. Click to cancel is
common sense policy that makes it easier to end subscriptions without jumping through hoops. To

ST ANDING UP FO R IMMIGRANT S
At a hearing for the Committee on Homeland Security, I pressed witnesses on the illegal methods our
federal agents are using to detain innocent members of our community. I highlighted how masked
federal agents are taking people off the streets–some of them American cit izens– and detaining them
without due process or access to an attorney. I also highlighted the case of Mr. Narciso Barranco, my
constituent and the father of three U.S. Marines, who was violently arrest ed by agents a few w eeks
ago. It’s my job to ensure our federal agents are following the law. I’ll keep doing my duty and calling
out the administration.

I also discussed ways to combat the mental health crisis with young advocates from Orange County.
With the majority of young people experiencing mental health challenges at some point in their
lifetimes, it’s critical that we implement prevention and treatment solutions that w ork. I chatted w ith
advocates from Girls Inc.’s Teen Advocacy Council about ways Congress can help the next generation
lead happy and healthy lives. I’ll keep pushing for legislation that helps our children stay healthy.

As always, I am committed to serving you, advocating for issues that mat ter to our community, and
connecting you to important resources. If you are experiencing any issues w it h a federal agency, my
office is here to help. Give us a call at (714) 559-6190.
