City res ident for ten years , married to an ER nurs e.
She works with law enforcement all the time. The s tories I get are of respectful officers who work around her needs — and her needs are to s afely take care of her
patients . The officers wait if they’ve got s omeone in cus tody who needs treatment and they take them afterwards . It works perfectly fine becaus e they follow the law
and act with public s afety in mind.
ICE is not that. They are not res pectful. They do not follow the law. They do not operate with public s afety in mind. They caus e terror and panic. They will s care
people from coming to the ER and they s care people who come to the ER from telling my wife the truth, which s he might need to treat them.
The ER needs to be a s afe place, s o that the people who need treatment get it and the people who give the treatment s tay s afe.
Keep ICE out of the ER at all cos ts . We need them to be s afe places .
