1962-0530RESOLUTION NO. 62R -530 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO_CONSIDER AN AMENDMENT TO. TITLE 18, CHAPTER.18.52 (ZONING CODE -M -1, LIGHT MANUFACTURING ZONE) OF THE ANAHEIM_ MUNICIPAL CODE AND REFERRING SAID. PROPOSED. AMENDMENT TO THE ANAHEIM CITY PLANNING COMMISSION TO HOLD.AND CONDUCT.A PUBLIC HEARING.OR.HEAR- INGS AND MAKE A.REPORT_0F ITS FINDINGS, SUMMARY OF HEARING AND RECOMMENDATION TO THE CITY COUNCIL. WHEREAS, the City Council does find that in order to promote the public health, peace, safety and general welfare that Title 18, Chapter 18.52, Section 18.52.010 (relating to uses permitted in the "M -1," Light Manufacturing Zone) of the Anaheim Municipal Code, should be amended so as to more clearly set forth the rules and regulations governing the allowable uses in said zone; and WHEREAS, the City Council does further find that said proposed amendment should be referred to the City Planning Commission for the purpose of holding a public hearing or hearings and make a report of its findings, summary of hear- ings and recommendations to the City Council. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim that it does hereby declare its intention to consider an amendment to Title 18, Chapter 18.52, Section 18.52.010, of the Anaheim Municipal Code to read as follows: "TITLE 18 ZONING" "CHAPTER 18.52 M -1, LIGHT MANUFACTURING ZONE" "SECTION 18.52.010. USE. Any 'M -1' use to be located closer than three hundred and thirty (330) feet from the exterior boundaries of any public school site shall be subject to a Conditional Use Permit as provided in Section 18.68.050. Any manufacture, processing or treatment of products may be conducted, provided that such manufacture, processing or treatment of products is not obnoxious or offensive by reason of emission of odor, dust, smoke, gas, noise, vibration, or other similar obnoxious or offensive elements. Subject to the foregoing conditions permitted uses shall include but not be limited to the following: 1. Wholesale business, storage buildings and warehouses. 2. Aircraft factory (no foundry) 3. Automobile assembly, body and fender works, dismantling and used parts storage when operated or maintained wholly within a building. -1- 4. Automobile painting, when not in connection with a main garage. All painting, sanding and baking shall be contained in a building. 5. Bakery. 6. Blacksmith shop. 7. Boat building, except shipbuilding. 8. Bottling plant. 9. Building material storage yard. 10. Cabinet shop or furniture manufacture (carpenter shop) 11. Carpet cleaning plant. 12. Cleaning and dyeing plant. 13. Contractor's storage yard. 14. Creamery. 15. Dairy products manufacture. 16. Draying, freighting or trucking yard or terminal. 17. Electric or neon sign manufacture. 18. Equestrian establishment; academies, schools, amusements. 19. Feed and fuel yard. 20. Food products manufacture, fresh fruit and vegetables excepted. 21. Fruit packing house. 22. Garage, public, that does a large amount of body and fender work, and painting. 23. Garment ifianufacture. 24. Ice and cold storage plant. 25. Laboratory, experimental, motion picture, testing. 26. Laundry. 27. Lumber yard. 28. Machine shop. 29. Manufacture of prefabricated buildings. 30. Mill, planing. 31. Motion picture studios. 32. Paint mixing (not employing a boiling process; above surface thinner storage limited to 200 gallons; no tank farm). 33. Plastic, fabrication from. 34. Poultry slaughter (subject to review and Conditional Use Permit as set forth in Section 18.68.050). 35. Paper, manufacture of. 36. Public utility service yards or electrical receiv- ing and /or transforming stations. 37. Rubber, fabrication of products made from finished rubber. 38. Sheet metal shop. 39. Shoe manufacture. 40. Soap manufacture (cold mix only). 41. Stable or riding academy. 42. Stone monument works. 43. Storage space for transit and transportation equipment except freight classification yards. 44. Textile manufacture. 45. Tire rebuilding, recapping and retreading. 46. Truck repairing and overhauling. 47. Automobile agency, new cars only, conducted primarily in enclosed building with incidental storage and servicing. 48. Automobile service stations. 49. Garage, parking or parking structures. 50. Newspaper or printing establishment. -2- 51. Radio or television broadcasting studios or stations. 52. Clinic, medical, industrial. 53. Training center, industrial. 54. Public Utility Substations. 55. Ambulance service. 56. Public Works Yard." BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said proposed amendment to Title 18, Chapter 18.52, Section 18.52.010, "M -1," Light Manufacturing Zone, be referred to the City Planning Commission and that it be, and it is hereby directed to hold and direct a public hearing or hearings and make a report of its findings, summary of hearings and recommendations to the City Council.
