1962-0765RESOLUTION NO. 62R A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM ASCERTAINING AND DETERMINING THE PREVAILING RATE OF WAGES TO BE PAID FOR EACH CRAFT, OR TYPE OF WORKMAN, OR MECHANIC NEEDED FOR PUBLIC WORKS CONTRACT, FOR THE FURNISHING OF ALL MATERIALS, PLANT, LABOR AND SERVICES FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF RESERVOIRS INCLUDING INSTALLATION OF WATER PIPES, VALVES, FITTINGS, ETC. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim does find and determine that public convenience and necessity re- quire the acquisition of. materials, plant, labor and services for public improvements, consisting of the construction of reservoirs, including installation of water pipes, valves, fittings, etc., and WHEREAS, Section 1770 of the Labor Code of the State of California requires that the City Council ascertain and determine the general prevailing rate of hourly wages and rates for legal holidays and overtime work on public works and improvements in the locality in which the work is to be performed, for each craft or type of workman, laborer or mechanic needed for the execution of such public contracts and the making of such public improvements, and for the furnishing of all plant, labor, services, materials and equipment and performing all work necessary for the execution and completion of said public contracts or improvements; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim that, in accordance with the provisions of Section 1770 of the Labor Code of the State of California, the City Council has ascertained and does hereby determine the general prevailing rate of hourly wages and rates for legal holidays and overtime work on public works and public improve- ments consisting of the construction of reservoirs, including installation of water pipes, valves, fittings, etc in the locality in which such work is to be performed, for each craft or type of laborer, workman or mechanic needed for the execution of public works contracts or contracts for the furnishing of all plant, labor, services, materials and equipment for the public improvements, consisting of the construction of reservoirs, including installation of water pipes, valves, fittings, etc. and that said prevailing rates so determined are as follows: CLASSIFICATION A- frame, or winch truck operator Air compressor, pump or generator operator Asphalt raker, ironer Boilermaker blacksmith foreman Boilermaker and blacksmith Bucgymobile man Calker, non metallic pipe joints Carpenter foreman Carpenter Carpenter foreman, millwright Cement dumper, 1 c.y. or larger mixer Cement finishing machine operator Cement mason foreman Cement mason Chucktender, except tunnels Concrete curer, impervious membrane Concrete mixer operator, skip type Cribber or shorer Engineer oiler signalman Equipment operator, universal (shovel, backhoe, crane, dragline, clamshell, pile driver, mucking machine, etc.) Fence erector Grade checker Heavy duty repairman Heavy duty repairman helper Instrumentman Ironworker, reinforcing Ironworker foreman, reinforcing Ironworker, structural Ironworker foreman, structural Laborer, general or construction Laborer foreman, general or construction Motor patrol operator Painter, brush Painter, spray gun Party chief Pipefitter, industrial Plumber Plumber foreman Riggers same scale as craft to which rigging is incidental Roller operator Screed operator Sewerpipe layer, all non metallic pipe Skiploader operator, wheel type Tarman mortarman Tractor loader operator, all types Tractor operator, boom attachments Tractor operator, scraper, drag -type shovel Trenching machine operator (trenches under 7 foot depth) Truck driver, dump trucks: less than 4 c.y. c.y. but less than 8 c.y. c.y. but less than 12 c.y. 12 c.y. but less than 16 c.y. 16 c.ye or more -2- HOURLY RATE 4.01 3053 3.47 5.10 4.60 3.47 3.45 4.33 4000 4.53 3.47 4.29 4.62 4.04 3.41 3.45 3.77 3.62 3053 4.4 4.30 4.12 4.3 3.53 4.12 40 4,60 4.50 4.85 3.26 3.56 4.41 3.08 4.13 4.41 4.10 4.58 5.038 4.12 4.12 3057 3.77 3031 4.4 4.4 4.31 4.12 3.575 3.605 3.655 30735 3.955 CLASSIFICATION HOURLY RATE Truck driver, truck capacity of: less than 6 -ton between 6 and l0 -ton between 10 and 15-ton between 15 and 20-ton 20-ton or more Truck driver, dumpsters Truck driver, transit -mix trucks under 3 c.y. Southern California Master Labor Agreement. Apprentices may be employed in conformity with Section 1777,5 of the California Labor Code, The rates of per diem wages for each of the various classifications of work shall be the hereinbefore set forth pre- vailing rates of hourly wages multiplied by eight. Eight hours shall constitute a day's work, it being understood that in the event that workmen are employed less than eight hours per day, the per diem wage shall be that fraction of the per diem wage herein established that the number of hours of employment bears to eight hours. The overtime rule establishing the rates of overtime and holiday, work shall be in accordance with the following: Where a single shift is worked, eight hours of continuous employment, except for lunch periods, shall constitute a day's work beginning on Monday and continuing through Friday each week. Where work is required in excess of eight hours in any one day or during the interval of time from 5:00 o'clock P.M. Friday and 12 :00 o'clock midnight Saturday, such work shall be paid for at the minimum rate of one and one -half times the basic rate of wages, and on Sundays and holidays such work shall be paid for at the minimum rate o f double the basic rate of wages, except as otherwise provided in the June 1961 0 revision of the A,G.C,, B,C.A,, H.B.I., E.G.C.A., A.F.L. C.I.O. Southern California Master Labor Agreement, Holidays as herein referred to shall be deemed to be New Year's Day, Decoration Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day, If any of the above mentioned holidays, other than Labor Day and Thanks- giving Day, falls on a Sunday, the following Monday shall be considered a legal holiday; It shall be mandatory upon the contractor to whom the contract is awarded and upon any subcontractor under him to pay not less than the said specified rates of wages to all laborers, workmen and mechanics employed by them in the execution of the contract.
