1962-0992A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM APPROVING AN AGREEMENT TO BE MADE
AND ENTERED INTO BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM AND THE NORTRONICS DIVISION OF NORTHROP
CORPORATION FOR THE INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE
OF A TRAFFIC SIGNAL AT THE MAIN EXIT OF THE
NORTRONICS PLANT LOCATED AT 500 EAST ORANGETHORPE
AVENUE, ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA; AND AUTHORIZING THE
MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE SAID AGREEMENT.
WHEREAS, considerable traffic congestion presently
exists and is progressively increasing at the main exit of the
Nortronics plant located at 500 East Orangethorpe Avenue,
Anaheim, California; and
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim has found and determined
that it would be in the best interests of the City of Anaheim
to regulate traffic at the main exit of the Nortronics plant,
and Nortronics has requested signalization of the private driveway
and Orangethorpe Avenue; and
WHEREAS, Section 21360 of the Vehicle Code grants the
power to the City of Anaheim to install such official traffic
control device; and
WHEREAS, the City and Nortronics desire to enter
into an agreement for the construction and installation of a
traffic signal at said •exit and to specify the proportionate
share of costs borne by the City and Nortronics to provide for
the maintenance of said traffic signal, as more particularly set
forth in the form of agreement prepared and this date submitted
to the City Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that the agreement this day submitted to the
City Council to be made and entered into by and between the City
of Anaheim and Nortronics Division of Northrop Corporation for
the construction, installation and maintenance of a traffic
signal at the main exit of the Nortronics plant located at
500 East Orangethorpe Avenue upon the terms and conditions and
for the proportionate share of the costs set forth in said
agreement and as hereinafter set forth, be and the same is
hereby approved. That said terms and conditions are as follows:
1. City of Anaheim shall:
(a) Prepare the plans and specifications for
the project at the sole expense of the City.
(b) Perform all inspection and supervision of the
construction at the expense of City.
(c) Maintain and operate the entire fixed -time
traffic signal system as constructed.

2. Nortronics shall:
(a) Let a contract to a contractor of Nortronics'
choice to construct the fixed -time traffic
signal system in accordance with the plans and
specifications as prepared by City. All
cost of construction to be paid by Nortronics.

ATTEST:
Reimburse City for Nortronics' proportionate
share of the cost of general maintenance and
operation of the aforementioned fixed -time
traffic signal system herein described
which share shall be fifty per cent (50
of the total cost of general maintenance
and operation of said signals. Nortronics
to pay such proportionate share of general
maintenance and operation upon rendition of
bill therefor from City to Nortronics.
(c) Nortronics agrees that City shall have the
right to enter upon Nortronics' property at
any time for the purpose of general
maintenance and replacement of the traffic
signal device.
After the fixed -time traffic signal system has been
constructed, all title thereto shall vest in the City
of Anaheim.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk
be, and they are hereby authorized to execute said agreement
for and on behalf of the City of Anaheim.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by
me this 7th day of November, 1962.
