RESOLUTION NO. 62R 946
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM REQUESTING THE STATE HIGHWAY COMMISSION
TO ALLOW A NEW PUBLIC ROAD CONNECTION TO THE RIVER-
SIDE FREEWAY (STATE HIGHWAY ROAD VII -ORA- 175 -ANA)
WESTERLY OF GROVE STREET.
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim and the State of California
have heretofore entered into a Freeway Agreement dated June 19,
1962 relating to the portion of the Riverside Freeway, State
Highway road VII -ORA -175 -Ana, between the westerly city limit
near Dale Street and the easterly city limit near Jefferson
Street; and
WHEREAS, the area to the north of the Riverside
Freeway, westerly of Grove Street, is experiencing an industrial
expansion; and
WHEREAS, such industrial expansion has caused an
increase in traffic turning movement desires to the north at
the existing Riverside Expressway and Grove Street, creating a
hazardous condition; and
WHEREAS, continued planned development assures an
increase in traffic desires at this location; and
WHEREAS, it is a public necessity to provide for the
safety of the traveling public during the interim period of
converting the existing Riverside Expressway to freeway standards.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of Anaheim does hereby ask the State Highway
Commission to allow a new public road connection at grade to
the north side of the Riverside Freeway, approximately 746
feet westerly of existing Grove Street, in conformance with the
City's plan for City streets in this area, and that the existing
Grove Street connection be closed at the time said new public
road connection is opened to traffic.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Anaheim agrees
that said new public road connection will be permanently closed
upon completion of the conversion of the existing Riverside
Expressway to a four -lane full freeway by the State Division
of Highways.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by me
this 17th day of October, 1962.

ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: None.
AND I FURTHER CERTIFY that the Mayor of the City of
