What be gan as loite ring in the parking lot has now move d inside the building itse lf. Individuals are ope nly using drugs—including ice and he roin with ne e dle s—in and around our office space . Use d syringe s are be ing le ft out in the ope n, forcing wome n, childre n, staff, and visitors to walk past the m at all hours of the day. This is no longe r just a nuisance —it has be come an e xtre me ly dange rous, intimidating, and hostile e nvironme nt. Fe male e mploye e s face he ighte ne d risk whe n walking to the ir cars afte r hours. Childre n and familie s walking by are e xpose d to ope n drug use and paraphe rnalia. The situation has re ache d the point whe re the are a re se mble s Skid Row—and it is spre ading. Most he artbre aking, I have witne sse d young te e nage rs caught up in this crisis, using drugs alongside pe ople twice or thre e time s the ir age . No child should e ve r be e xpose d to that, and no busine ss or family should be force d to acce pt it as “normal.” The re are ove r 30 busine sse s in this strip mall, e ach with e mploye e s and custome rs who de se rve to fe e l safe . This is not just about liability—it is about prote cting human live s and re storing dignity to our community. I strongly urge imme diate inte rve ntion—through patrols, law e nforce me nt action, cle anup e fforts, and coordinate d outre ach se rvice s. This re quire s urge ncy.
