A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM AUTHORIZING A SPECIAL CENSUS TO BE
TAKEN IN THE CITY OF ANAHEIM, AND AUTHORIZING
THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE, BUREAU OF THE
CENSUS OF THE UNITED STATES TO CONDUCT AND
TAKE SAID CENSUS; AND PROVIDING FOR THE PAY
MENT OF THE COST THEREOF.
WHEREAS, Article 1, Chapter 17, Part 2, Division
3, Title 4 of the Government Code of the State of Cali-
fornia authorizes the taking of a special census between
the years of taking the federal census; and
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim has, since the last
census, experienced unusual and rapid growth due to in-
creased development and the annexation of new territories;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim
does find and determine that a special census is necessary
and desirable at this time and for the best interests of the
City; and
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim has requested and re-
ceived from the Department of Commerce, Bureau of the Census,
an estimate of the cost of a special federal census, and said
estimated cost is $4,095.00; and
WHEREAS, funds for the taking of said special census
are available;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that the City Clerk be, and she is
hereby, authorized and directed to write to the Department
of Commerce, Bureau of the Census, requesting that a special
federal census be taken; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and the City
Clerk be, and they are hereby, authorized and directed to
enter into an agreement with the Department of Commerce,
Bureau of the Census, for and on behalf of the City of
Anaheim, whereby said Bureau of the Census will conduct said
census and the City of Anaheim will pay all necessary costs
thereof.
The foregoing Resolution is signed and approved
by me this 9th day of November, 1954.

Anaheim approved and signed said resolution on the 9th day of
November, 1954.
