1954-2474RESOLUTION NO. 2474 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM FINDING AND DETEMINING THAT IT IS NECESSARY TO PURCHASE LIQUID CHLORINE FOR USE EY THE ORANGE COUNTY JOINT OUTFALL SEWER IN THE HANDLING OF SEWAGE, AND AUTHORIZING THE PUBLICATION OF A NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS THEREFOR. WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim has heretofore been appointed and designated as the contracting agent for the Cities of Buena Park, Fullerton, Orange and Anaheim, and the Garden Grove, La Habra and Placentia Sanitary Districts of the Orange County Joint Outfall Sewer; and WHEREAS, the City Council does find and determine that it is necessary to purchase liquid chlorine for use in the handling of sewage by the Orange County Joint Outfall Sewer; and WHEREAS, the amount required will exceed in cost the sum of 42,000.00, and a notice should be published inviting sealed proposals therefor. NOW, TH RE'ORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim, as contracting agent for the Cities and Sanitary Districts of the Orange County Joint Outfall Sewer, that a notice inviting sealed proposals for the fur- nishing of liquid chlorine for the handling of sewage, of commercial quality and of an estimated quantity of 400,000 to 600,000 pounds, be published in the Anaheim Bulletin, a news- paper of general circulation, printed, published and circu- lated in the City of Anaheim, r.ivin; notice to all persons that bids for such liquid chlorine will be received up to the hour of 8 :00 o'clock P.M. on the 27th day of July 1954, at the Office of the City Clerk, in the Cit Hal Anaheim, California; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to publish said notice as herein directed; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said sealed proposals shall comply in all respects with the specifications prepared by the Manager of the Orange County Joint Outfall Sewer, a copy of which shall be placed on file in the Office of the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim, and on file in the Office of the Orange County Joint Outfall Sewer, which specifications are hereby approved. BE IT FURTHEL RESOLVED that the successful bidder shall be required to enter into a contract with the City of Anaheim in a form approved by the City Attorney, a copy of which shall be placed on file in the Office of the City Clerk for inspection by bidders, and shall be required to execute to the City of Anaheim a faithful performance bond as required by law and the specifications.
