A RESOLUTION OF TIIE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM APPROVING A JOINT AGREE
MENT BETWEEN THE COUNTY OF ORANGE AND 'THE
CITIES OF SANTA ANA, ORANGE, FULLERTON,
HUN INGTON BEACH,. NEWPORT BEACH AND ANAHEIM
FOR 'THE OPERATION OF A TELETYPEWRITER
SERVICE.
WHEREAS, the County of Oran and the Cities of
Santa Ana, Orange, Fullerton, Huntington Beach and Newport
Beach have heretofore entered into a joint agreement for
the establishment and operation of a teletypewriter service
for their respective police departments, which agreement
fixed the percentage of cost to be paid for said service
by'each'party thereto, and which said teletypewriter
service is now in operation; and
WHEREAS, said agreement provides that it may, by
mutual consent, be amended to provide for the addition of
any other City desiring to obtain teletypewriter service;
and
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim now desires to ob-
tain teletypewriter service for the use of its police
department jointly with the other parties to said agreement
and to pay its equitable share of the cost thereof; and
WHEREAS, a joint agreement for the operation of
said teletypewriter service has been prepared and submitted
to the City Council of the City of Anaheim, dated July 2,
1954, to be executed by the County of Orange and the Cities
above mentioned, and the City of Anaheim, providing for the
extension of said teletypewriter service to the City of
Anaheim, and providing that the City of Anaheim pay nine
(9) per cent of the rental required to be paid to the
Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company for the operation
of said service, which agreement the City Council finds to
be to the advantage and for the best interest of the City
of Anaheim.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that the joint agreement dated July
2, 1954, this day submitted to the City Council to be exe-
cuted by and between the County of Orange and the Cities of
Santa Ana, Orange, Fullerton, Huntington Beach, Newport Beach
and Anaheim for the operation of a teletypewriter service, be
and the same is hereby approved; and that the Mayor and the
City Clerk be, and they are hereby, authorized and directed
to execute said agreement for and on behalf of the City of
Anaheim.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is signed and approved
by me this 2nd day of July, 1954.
