1953-2218returns of a certain special annexation election held on the 7th day of August, 1953, in certain unincorporated territory sought to be annexed to said City of Anaheim, designated as BALL ROAD ANNEXATION NO. 2, and WAS, said City Council has caused a record to be made of the canvass of returns of said election, which record is entitled RECORD OF CANVASS OF RETURNS OF SPECIAL ANNEXATION TTMCTION HELD AUGUST 7, 1953. Said special annexation election was held on the 7th day of August, 1953 in the manner provided by law. That for said election, said City Council duly established one voting precinct which is designated as BALL ROAD ANNEXATION NO. 2 FLPCTI0N PRECINCT. That the polling place for such election was established and main- tained at Orange Grove Trailer Park Business Office, 913 South Palm Street, Orange County, California, which was within the hereinafter described unin- corporated territory. The description of the property proposed to be included in the annexation known as the BALL ROAD ANNEXATION NO. 2 is as follows: A tract of land lying within sections 15, 16, 21 and 22, township 4 south,, range 10 west, San Bernardino Base and Meridian; bounded on the east by the E line NW- NE* of said section 22, on the south by Winston Road extend- ed to Walnut Street, South on Walnut Street to Cerritos, West on Cerritos to the Southerly extension of Loara Road, north on Loara Road, and its southerly extension, to Lincoln Avenue, bounded by the existing City Limits on the north and east, and more particularly described as follows: Beginning at the point of intersection of the E. line of the NW* of NE4, Section 22, T4S, RlOW, S.B.B.M. and the existing City Limits being 660 more or less southerly of the monumenter center line of Ball Road (60 feet wide); thence 1. That the proposition submitted to the electors residing within said unincorporated area was: Shall "BALL ROAD ANNEXATION NO. 2" be annexed to the City of Anaheim, California, aid the property in said BALL ROAD ANNEXATION NO. 2, be after such annexation, YES subject to taxation equally with the property within said City of Anaheim, to pay its pro rata portion, based upon assessed valuation of all bonded indebtedness NO of said City of Anaheim outstanding on June 9, 1953, or theretofore authorized? That said City Council met at its regular meeting after the expiration of three days from and after the date of said election to canvass the returns of said election, to wit, August 11, 1953, and at that time continued the canvass of returns to an Adjourned Regular session on Monday, August 24, 1953 to make and complete its canvass of such returns. That from and by its canvass of such returns, said City Council finds: 1. That the whole number of votes cast at such election was 93. 2. That the number of votes cast at such election in favor of annexation was 43. 3. That the number of votes cast at such election against annexation was 50. 4. That the number of ballots received as absentee votes was 12, of which 2 ballots were rejected and that 10 were found to be valid absentee ballots. 5. That the number of absentee ballots received in favor of annexation was 9. 6. That the number of absentee ballots received against annexation was 1. 7. That the total number of votes cast, including absentee votes, favoring annexation was 52. 8. That the total number of votes cast, including absentee votes, against annexation was 51. -rL C. 1451- E.
