1953-2191RESOLUTION NO. 2191 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM EMPLOYING HARRISON AND WOOLLEY, CONSULTING ENGINEERS, TO MAKE PRELIMINARY INVESTIGATIONS, DESIGNS AND DETERMINE APPROXI- MATE QUANTITIES AND ESTIMATES OF COST AND MAKE A PRELIMINARY REPORT FOR THE PURPOSE OF DE- TERMINING THE FEASIBILITY OF FLOOD CONTROL AND DRAINAGE PROJECTS TO BE DESIGNATED BY THE CITX COUNCIL. WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim desires to obtain certain engineering services to consist of preliminary investigations, designs, approximate quantities and estimates of cost, all to be embodied in a preliminary report for the purpose of determin- ing the feasibility of flood control and drainage projects to be designated by the City Council; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the firm of Harrison and Woolley, Consulting Engineers, of 308 West Fifth Street, Santa Ana, California, are qualified engineers to furnish such engineering services, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim that the firm of Harrison and Woolley, Consulting Engineers, of Santa Ana, California be, and they are hereby, employed by the City of Anaheim to render the following engineering services: (a) To make all necessary and proper preliminary surveys, investigations, consultations, maps, plans, cost estimates, reports, and all other services customarily incident to such preliminary surveys and reports; (b) To make a record of the progress of such pre- liminary work, a report of such progress to be submitted to the City Council through the office of the City Administrator and the City Engineer each month; (c) Such engineering services shall be rendered subject to the reservation of the City to terminate work on any project and to bring the report to a conclusion and have the same submitted to the City Council within fifteen (15) days. (d) Said Consulting Engineers shall have the right to terminate their services upon notice in writing to the City Council and thereafter upon completion of the work there- tofore submitted, the contract shall be terminated. (e) All services to be rendered by said Consulting Engineers shall be rendered in accordance with the terms of this resolution and the agreement to be made and entered into by and between the City of Anaheim and said engineers, as hereinafter provided, and in a skilful and professional manner; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that in consideration of the rendition of said engineering services by said Consulting -1- Engineers as herein required, they shall be paid therefor by the City of Anaheim, as full compensation, an amount equal to the direct drafting room, field surveys and supervisory costs at prevailing rates, plus 100% of the same for over- head and profit, such overhead cost to include the time of said engineers, plus an allowance of 7 -1/29 per mile for transportation of said Harrison and Woolley while engaged in technical field studies or research, in addition to the above mentioned fees. Said compensation shall be paid monthly upon statements submitted in such form as may be required by the City Auditor; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and the City Clerk.be, and they are hereby, authorized to enter into and execute a contract for and on behalf of the City of Anaheim with said Harrison and Woolley in the usual form and as ap- proved by the City Attorney, for tYn rendition of the services herein provided for by said Harrison and Woolley, and upon the terms incorporated herein.
