A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE PURCHASE
OF CONCRETE CYLINDER PIPE IS NECESSARY FOR THE
WATER DEPARTMENT AND FIXING THE SPECIFICATIONS
THEREOF AND DIRECTING PUBLICATION OF NOTICE IN-
VITING BIDS FOR THE FURNISHING OF PIPE AND FIT-
TINGS.
WHEREAS, the City Council does find and determine that
public interest and necessity requires the purchase and acquisi-
tion of concrete cylinder pipe for use by the Water Department
of the City in the amounts hereinafter specified ;and
WHEREAS, the Council does further find that the specifi-
cations of such pipe should be fixed and determined; and
WHEREAS, the City Council does find and determine that
notice should be published inviting bids for the furnishing of
pipe in the amounts and in accordance with the specifications
hereinafter aet forth.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ANAHEIM that all concrete cylinder pipe purchased
by and furnished to the City of Anaheim shall conform to Federal
specifications SS -P -0038 of April 2, 1953, and shall be pipe of
Class 150 for 150 pounds maximum water working pressure.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that there shall be purchased
for the Water Department of the City of Anaheim concrete cylinder
pipe in the following approximate quantities and the following
sizes and descriptions:
ITEM NO.
1. 14,000 feet of 18" I.D. reinforced concrete steel
cylinder pipe including rubber gaskets for instal-
lation.
2. 600 feet of 24" I.D. reinforced concrete steel
cylinder pipe including rubber gaskets for instal-
lation.
3. Six 18 "x18 "x12 "x12" I.D. fabricated crosses
with 12" flanges adapted for flanged connection
including blank flanges.
4. Twelve 18" flanged connections to 18" gate valves.

5. 6" flanged outlets for fire hydrant connections
includin blank flanges.
6. One 18" by 10" fabricating reducer fitting with 10"
end adapted to lay into a standard 10" cast iron
bell joint and 18" end adapted with rubber gasket
joint to lay with 18" cylinder pipe.
7. Such other miscellaneous fittings as may be necessary
in the installation and use of said pipe.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be, and
he is hereby, authorized and directed to publish a notice in the

ATTEST:
Anaheim Bulletin in the manner and form as required by law in-
viting sealed proposals for the furnishing of said pipe and
fittings above described and directing that said sealed bids
be received either on the 9th or the 23rd days of June, 1953.
