1947-1570RESOLUTION NO 7C RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM AWARDING BIDS FOR CAST IRON WATER PIPE FITTINGS AND VALVE BOXES. WHEREAS, the City Council did on the 27th day of August, 1947 advertise for bids to submit proposals for furnishing to the City of Anaheim cast iron water pipe fittings and valve boxes in the amounts and according to the specifications set forth in said notice, and WHEREAS, all bidders were notified in said notice that sale proposals would be received by the City Council of the City of Anaheim at the office of the City Clerk up to the hour of eight o'clock P. M. of Wednesday, the 10th day of September, 1947, and WHEREAS, various bids and proposals have been submitted by various persons and concerns and the City Council has carefully considered all of said bids and proposals, and finds that the bid of The Grinnell Company of the Pacific of Los Angeles, California, is the lowest and best bid for 13,000 pounds of cast iron fittings;and that the bid of the United States Pipe and Foundry Company of Los Angeles, California is the lowest and best bid for the cast iron pipe called for in said notice calling for bids; and that the bid or proposal of the Waterworks Supply Company of Los Angeles, California is the lowest and best bid or proposal submitted for furnishing 100 adjustable gate valve boxes mentioned in said notice inviting proposals; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM That the bid of The Grinnell Company of the Pacific for furnishing 13,000 pounds of cast iron fittings be and the same is hereby accepted, and 32 That the bid and proposal of the United States Pipe and 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 Foundry Company of Los Angeles, California,for furnishing the cast iron pipe mentioned in said notice calling for said bids and proposals be and the same is hereby accepted, and That the bid and proposal of the Waterworks Supply Company of Los Angeles. California, for furnishing 100 adjustable gate valve boxes be and the same is hereby accepted, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Superintendent of the Light and Water Department be and he is hereby authorized to purchase said pipe, fittings, and gate valve boxes from the above mentioned concerns in accordance with the prices set forth in bids and proposals submitted by them and hereby accepted by the City Council of the City of Anaheim.
