LBT r 1 �. 0 g r r r NO._ I Of I 3 WHEREAS, due to the flood occurring on March Id, 1938 an urgency exists in Orange County by reason of the destruction of the Out —fall sewer owned by the Cities of Santa Ana, Anaheim Fullerton, Orange and La Habra and Sanitary Districts of Garden Grove, Buena Park and Placentia; and WHEREAS by reason of the said flood a great many streets and other public property in the aforementioned cities was destroyed, and which condition has brought about a serious drain upon the finances of said citieQ and A EAS by reason of-400 said flood the entire out —fall sewer I has been damaged; that in Section 1 thereof, 800 feet of said sewer line has been torn out, 3200 feet thereof has Imeen submerged in mud and the screening plant demolished; and WHEREAS in Section 2, four miles of the sewer line has been completely demolished, and the sewage from the several cities and sanitary districts is being discharged in the open and upon prop— erty adjacent to said sewer line and upon the public beaches of Orange County, and that the continuous discharge of said sewage constitutes a menace to the public health of the people of the State of California; and WHEREAS the coo - Vof repairing said sewer line and reconstruct— ing the portions thereof destroyed by said flood will cost the citiea and sanitary districts in said joint out�fall sewer project the sum of THREE HUNDRED AND FIFTEEN THOUSAND($315,000.00) Dollars; :..1 WHEREAS the State Legislature at its recent special session appropriated Five Million ($5,000,000.00) Dollars for the relief of such conditions, NON', THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City 6.*l- 1': 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 121 13 14 15i 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 of Anaheim that the City of Anaheim petition the Department of Finance of the State of California ft the sum of THREE HUNDRED AND IFTEEN THOUSAND (315,000.00) Dollars to bn allocated by said department for the benefit of the cities and sanitary districts included within the joint out -fall sewer pro- ject, in reconstructing and repairing said sewer line, The foregoing Resolution was signed and approved by me this 15th day of March, 1938 I, Charles E.
