I am writing to express my opposition to the Prohousing Designation. Who asked the
city staff to create this application? Which council members have projects currently
needing grant money? If the City of Anaheim has already exceeded the criteria for
membership, why would they then need to sign a pledge of any type?
The State of California is a cesspool of fraud. Why would our city enter into an open-
ended pledge of any type with the state?
If our mayor and council members think that this will be a feather in their caps,
something to make them look good, they need to explain themselves. Hold a town hall
meeting! Get out with the citizens of Anaheim and tell us why we need this
designation. They won't because they know the support from constituents isn't
there. That should be enough for them to squash this. Look at how we have already
paid the price because of their quest to be some sort of beacon; the shining city on top
of the hill. Look at how we have already been blindsided by the decisions Aiken, Meeks
and all the council have made behind closed doors. I don't trust a single one of
them. Not many citizens of Anaheim Hills do.
How much excess tax income does the City of Anaheim get annually from
Disneyland? How does that play into all of this?
We, the good citizens of Anaheim Hills, do not want "homes" stuck into every nook and
cranny in our city. This is not what we signed up for. We don't have the
infrastructure. We don't have anymore room. Safety is also an issue. WE DO NOT
WANT THIS TYPE OF DECISION TAKEN OUT OF OUR HANDS AND INTO THE HANDS OF
THE CORRUPT STATE OF CALIFORNIA.
