Do not click links or open a?achments unless you recognize the sender and are expec?ng the message. Mayor and Members of the Anaheim City Council, I urge you not to seek California’s Prohousing Designa?on for the city of Anaheim. As we are all aware, Sacramento has very aggressively been stripping local governments of their ability to oversee what housing projects are constructed in their respec?ve ci?es and towns. Blanket incen?ves, variances and regula?ons can have extremely nega?ve consequences for a large and diverse city such as Anaheim. These nega?ve consequences, including no parking for new projects, walls and buildings closer together and closer to streets and highways and smaller unit sizes substan?ally nega?vely affect residents day in and day out and outweigh any financial benefit a pro housing designa?on would bring. The needs for the different districts of Anaheim vary greatly. Placing blanket housing policy on all the districts will take away the councils ability to protect and make decisions that are appropriate for all of the districts of Anaheim. Please retain the small amount to local control over housing that Anaheim currently has. Developers ul?mately do not care about residents, money is their only mo?va?ng factor. Any amount of decision making and oversight that can be retained will ul?mately benefit the city of Anaheim as a whole. Respec?ully, Andrea and Engler Phelps Anaheim Residents Sent from my iPhone 1
