Dear Neighbor,
This week in Washington I fought to preserve the American Dream and make it easier for OC
residents, young and old, to continue living in our beautiful community. I helped pass the 21st Century
Road to Housing Act, which will update federal housing programs to increase the supply of affordable
housing. I joined my bipartisan colleagues in launching the Congressional Free Enterprise Caucus,
which is dedicated to promoting pro-growth, pro-worker, and fiscally responsible federal policies. I
also worked with my colleagues on the House Committee on Homeland Security to pass over a
dozen important pieces of bipartisan legislation through committee.
MAKING HOUSING MORE AFFORDABLE
This week, I helped pass the 21st Century Road to Housing Act, which makes homeownership more
accessible by supporting the construction of new homes and cutting red tape. This housing package
also includes a bill that I introduced, the Housing Supply Expansion Act, which will make
manufactured homes more affordable.
As Co-Chair of the bipartisan Congressional Real Estate Caucus, I worked to secure this bill’s
passage and look forward to it becoming law so families in both Southern California and across the
country will have a better chance at obtaining a core component of the American Dream.

SUPPORTING FREE ENTERPRISE
This week, I joined my bipartisan colleagues in starting the Congressional Free Enterprise Caucus.
This new caucus and its members are dedicated to strengthening free markets and securing
America’s long-term economic leadership. As the American Dream continues to seem out of reach
for most families in our communities and small businesses struggle to stay open, it is the
responsibility of Congress to do everything we can to bolster economic prosperity and upward
mobility for all.
Free enterprise encapsulates the freedom and opportunity for all to succeed no matter the
circumstances, and is the economic embodiment of the American Dream. It is the opinion of myself
and my fellow co-chairs that preserving and strengthening the American free-enterprise system is
essential to securing America’s economic leadership for generations to come.

CARING FOR THOSE THAT KEEP US SAFE

This week, I met with my colleagues on the House Committee on Homeland Security to vote out 19
bills that will improve our country’s ability to fight terrorism and respond to natural disasters–all with
bipartisan support. One of these bills was the PEARL Act, which I introduced to create a federal
program to adopt dogs from local animal shelters and train them to be support dogs for the men and
women serving as frontline officers.
Our nation’s frontline workers put their lives on the line every day to protect our communities, we owe
it to them to invest in proven mental health programs so they have the support they need. This bill
will allow more frontline officers and agents to receive support canines to help them cope with the
many stresses they face while protecting our homeland.

KEEPING OC SAFE FROM SCAMMERS
This week I voted to pass the Financial Exploitation Prevention Act. This bipartisan bill protects
seniors from scammers by giving the financial industry more tools to address suspected financial
exploitation and abuse of seniors and those with disabilities. Senior citizens have provided decades
of hard work to better our community, and the last thing they need is to have their life savings and
retirement plans be threatened by fraudsters.

This week I was in Orange County and Washington, D.C. pushing back against harmful immigration
policies, passing legislation to improve child safety online, and collaborating with community
partners to support students and children with special needs.
PUSHING BACK ON HARMFUL IMMIGRATION POLICIES
As Ranking Member of the Border Security and Enforcement Subcommittee, I pressed U.S. Customs
and Border Protection and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials about this
Administration’s dangerous immigration enforcement policies. Instead of arresting the “worst of the
worst,” they are arresting hardworking members of our community like Sister Leticia Ugboaja, a nun
and nurse who was arrested by ICE on her way to Sunday mass.
Agencies are also moving thousands of agents who would normally combat child sex trafficking,
money laundering, and drug smuggling to make them work on immigration enforcement–often
without the right training.

Rep. Correa questions homeland security officials at subcommittee hearing
PROTECTING OUR KIDS AND TEENS ONLINE
This week, I voted to pass the bipartisan Kids Internet and Digital Safety (KIDS) Act, which requires
online platforms to create safeguards to prevent harm to minors. It also requires companies to limit
design features that lead to compulsive usage and bans targeted advertising to children and teens.
The passage of this bill represents a meaningful difference for our kids’ safety and privacy.

CONNECTING WITH FAMILIES
I had the pleasure of joining the Anaheim Police Department and Corazones Especiales for the
Sensory with a Patch event, a fun day connecting with families with children of special needs in our
community. Together we worked to raise awareness and promote inclusion and acceptance for the
children of our community with special needs.

ANAHEIM CAR CLUB ORANGE COUNTY
This week I joined the Anaheim Car Club Orange County at La Palma Park for a festive Car Show that
helped raise funds for student scholarships and honored the memory of founder Gilbert Avina–a
great time spent with friends, neighbors, and classic cars.

AMERICA 250
This weekend, we will celebrate 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence, the
birth of our great nation! No one thought our democracy would last 50 years, let alone 250, a new
experiment where the people lead, not a king.

in the community as we celebrate this amazing milestone together!

This week I was back home in Orange County celebrating America’s 250th Birthday with my
neighbors and honoring those who have served our great country and represent our nation’s ideals. I
also presented over $1 million in federal funding for local law enforcement and celebrated
constituent success stories where we helped community members with federal agencies.
SUPPORTING OUR FIRST RESPONDERS
This week, I presented a check for $1,031,000 in federal funding to the City of Orange to create a Real
Time Crime Center, which will equip officers with real-time information so they can respond to calls
more efficiently.
Public safety is only as powerful as the tools we give our officers. This funding will allow officers to
work smarter and more effectively, which improves both their safety and the safety of our
community.

CELEBRATING CONSTITUENT SUCCESS STORIES
This week, we hosted our mid-year reception, which is one of my favorite opportunities to welcome
constituents into our office whom we’ve had the privilege of helping through casework.
Oftentimes a lot of this work happens behind the scenes, whether it’s helping with immigration,
housing, the VA, Social Security, Medicare, or other federal related issues.
It means a lot to celebrate success stories together and recognize a few special individuals along the
way. Got to love this work.

Dear Anaheim,
Beginning July 1, 2026, major changes to federal student loans will take effect due to President
Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill. An overview of the changes is below, and more information can be
found here.
Changes to Repayment Plans: For new loans disbursed after July 1, 2026, the law eliminates
current income-driven repayment plans (IBR, PAYE, SAVE) and replaces them with two repayment
choices:
Repayment Assistance Program (RAP), new income-driven plan
Tiered Standard Plan, fixed payments over 10-25 years depending on loan balance
You can apply for one of the two new repayment plans on StudentAid.gov.
SAVE Plan Elimination: Borrowers currently enrolled in the SAVE plan will begin receiving notices to
switch to different repayment plans within 90 days. More information is available here.
New Borrowing Limits: The law creates the following new borrowing limits (with limited exceptions
for students who are currently enrolled and took out loans before July 1, 2026):
Professional programs (e.g., medicine, law):
o Up to $50,000/year, $200,000 aggregate borrowing limit.
Other graduate programs:

o Up to $20,500/year, $100,000 aggregate borrowing limit.
New Lifetime Limit: There is a new combined lifetime borrowing limit of $257,500 for any federal
student loans ever borrowed, excluding Parent PLUS.
Elimination of Grad PLUS Loans: Grad Plus loans for new students are eliminated beginning July 1,
2026. Those enrolled in graduate programs before July 2026 can continue Grad PLUS loans for up
to three additional years, but must remain in the same program at the same school where they first
borrowed the loan.
