Dear Neighbor,
This week, I took time back home to recognize all of the great progress being made from all corners
of our community. From city-wide celebrations and community development projects to resource
events for our seniors and children, I spent this week recognizing all of the great community work
being done all across Central Orange County. As I continue to bring your stories to the halls of
Congress, I wanted to take a moment to show you what I’ve been working on.

I kicked off this week by celebrating Santa Ana’s annual ‘State of the City’ at Templo Calvario. This
State of the City was a very special one. From infrastructure upgrades to new housing and public
parks, there was so much to celebrate. I, alongside local community leaders, were able to recognize
accomplishments that the city has made to promote safety, fiscal responsibility, and community
development. Together, we are proud to be building a safer, stronger, and more prosperous Santa
Ana for the next generation of Santaneros.
HEALTH AND WELLNESS FOR OLDER ADULTS

Rep. Correa with CalOptima leader, Michael Hunn, at the Older Adult Collaborative
This week, I hosted the second session of my Older Adult Congressional Collaborative. Dr. Robert
Kovachev, a retired CSUF professor, joined as a guest speaker to offer his insight on what steps
he recommends be taken to ensure that your retirement years are the best to come. This
collaborative discusses practices of health, wellness, and successful aging for our neighbors
preparing to head into their retirement years. In this forum, we were also able to discuss the work
I’ve been doing in Washington and back home. From policy updates to bringing home federal
dollars for senior centers, I was excited to update our neighbors on the work I’ve been doing.

This week, I stopped by to join community partners in Santa Ana for their Back to School Resource
Fair. I had a great time helping our local families access backpacks, school supplies, and health
screenings to get ready for the new school year.

This week, I toured Central Orange County’s new great park, OCVIBE. I was happy to see the
tremendous progress being made at its new facilities. Soon enough, OCVIBE will be a destination
that brings Orange County families together to create new, lasting memories for the next
generations to enjoy. The OCVIBE district is coming to life more and more every day.

This week, I continued to work on behalf of the neighbors that shape Orange County. Whether it be
honoring our communities and bringing home federal investments or hearing your stories and
keeping you informed, it was a week filled with good, fulfilling work on behalf of the constituents of
my district. As I continue to bring your stories to the halls of Congress, I wanted to take a moment to

Rep. Correa honoring our Chicano vets in Santa Ana’s Logan Barrio
This week, I re-introduced a resolution designating August as Chicano/Chicana Heritage Month! As a
proud son of Mexican immigrants, and a Representative for one of the largest Chicano
constituencies in the country, I know firsthand the contributions that Mexican-Americans have made
to this great nation. Chicanos have strengthened our country in countless ways. They make America
great and they deserve to be recognized and celebrated for their accomplishments.

This week, I stopped by the El Modena Family Resource Center in Orange to listen to the needs of
local families in our community. As your Representative, it is my top priority to listen to the stories
that define our community, and understand how I can help bring your stories to the halls of
Congress. Thank you El Modena Family Center, for an afternoon of thoughtful discussion.

Rep. Correa celebrating the opening of the Care Traffic Control Center
Orange County is seeing the number of uninsured in our community grow. Emergency rooms should
not be a primary source of health care. Our unhoused population will be able to turn to CalOptima
Health’s growing Street Medicine Program as a real alternative. I am proud to have brought home
over $2 million in federal dollars to build the CalOptima Care Traffic Control Center, which will ensure
better coordinated care for those who currently rely on Street Medicine as their primary option

Rep. Correa bringing home $1 million in federal funding for Boysen Park
This week, I was proud to bring home one million dollars in federal funding to support
improvements for Anaheim’s beloved Boysen Park. Boysen Park,otherwise known as ‘Plane Park’,
has long been a place where Orange County families come to enjoy their evenings and weekends.
As someone who played little league in Boysen, and had the privilege of seeing my sons play little
league here, I am proud to secure investments that will ensure Boysen Park continues to be a safe
place for families to enjoy.
HEALTHCARE CHANGES FOR CERTAIN LAWFULLY PRESENTED
IMMIGRANTS

Following the passage of President Trump’s One Big Ugly Bill, which I voted against, certain
immigrant groups with legal status will be ineligible for financial help from Covered California
(including premium tax credits and cost-sharing reductions) beginning in 2027.
If you are a lawfully present immigrant who will become ineligible in 2027, you can still enroll in
Covered California coverage, but you will not be eligible for financial help. As a result, your
monthly health insurance costs may be higher in 2027. Please note that these changes will not go
into effect until 2027 and do not affect your current plan costs.
