Dear Mayor Aitken and Members of the Anaheim City Council,
I support responsible housing development in Anaheim, but I am asking you to oppose the
City's Prohousing Designation application.
Anaheim needs housing, and I understand the importance of creating opportunities for new
homes. However, supporting housing does not mean the city should give up local control or
agree to policies that limit Anaheim's ability to respond to real-world problems.
Every project is different. Some may be appropriate, while others may create serious
concerns with traffic, parking, infrastructure, public safety, wildfire evacuation, or
neighborhood compatibility. The City Council needs to preserve its ability to evaluate
each project on its own merits and require changes when necessary.
Please oppose the Prohousing Designation application and keep Anaheim's housing decisions
local, balanced, and accountable.
