To whom it may concern:
I have been a taxpaying resident of City of Anaheim since before the 1980's. I urge you all to reject the
"Prohousing Designation" for Anaheim.
We have grown and expanded out far beyond what civil engineers have anticipated and built in terms of
infrastructure. Anyone who has experienced the congested traffic and gridlock within our city can attest
that further housing developments would only exacerbate the problem.
If the proposed (not guaranteed) funds are to help the citizens of our city I encourage you to not trade our
quality of life for money. Parts of Anaheim are in a severe fire hazard district. The last time nature put it to
the test things did not go well. With new high density housing being built in spite of this, I foresee things
only being more complicated the next time.
As our elected representatives I urge you to not pursue this "Prohousing Designation". Each project
should be looked at individually and assessed for the benefits and disadvantages they provide. The
prohousing designation would supersede local control and let the state decide what's best for our local
population. This seems antithetical to why we vote for you to represent us in the first place.
