Warning: This email originated from outside the City of Anaheim. Do not click links or open attachments unless you recognize the sender and are expecting the message. Dear Neighbor, As August recess draws to a close and I prepare to head back to Washington for September votes, I spent this week engaging with all corners of our community. From meaningful conversations with Orange County’s youth and sharing resources offered by my office to bringing home federal dollars, I took time to inspire, educate, and support our neighbors back home. As I continue to bring your stories to the halls of Congress, I wanted to take a moment to show you what I’ve been working on. SECURING FEDERAL DOLLARS FOR SANTA ANA COLLEGE 1 Rep. Correa bringing home $850,000 in federal funds to support SAC This week, I was proud to present an $850,000 federal funding check to support Santa Ana College. These federal dollars will be put to good use, creating infrastructure for its Automotive Technology, Diesel-Electric Transportation Technology, and Robotics Manufacturing/Welding programs for our SAC students. Santa Ana College has always been a launching pad for opportunity in the Orange County community, and this funding makes sure it stays that way! INSPIRING THE NEXT GENERATION OF LEADERS 2 Rep. Correa speaking to Anaheim HS students This week, I returned to my alma mater, Anaheim High School, to engage with our young Colonists and inform them of the many enriching opportunities offered by my office. From the Young Congressional Leaders Program to our Congressional Art and App challenges, there are just so many opportunities for our local youth to make an impact. I also popped by to see the new Anaheim High School mural, which showcases the rich history of the Anaheim community and the community leaders who shaped what it is today. What a great trip down memory lane this visit was. Go Colonists!! KEEPING YOU INFORMED: KNOW YOUR RIGHTS! 3 Click above image to view social media post Have you or somebody you know been confronted by ICE? HERE is the critical information you need to know your rights. During times like these, it’s of great importance that we stay informed — to protect ourselves, our families, and our neighbors here in Orange County. Stay safe out there folks! SHARING RESOURCES WITH LOCAL YOUTH 4 Rep. Correa with Legacy College Prep scholars This week, I stopped by Legacy College Prep in Santa Ana to connect with local high school students and share exciting youth opportunities available through my office. It’s always a pleasure engaging with Orange County youth. They are the next generation of leaders and it is a top priority of mine to ensure that they are met with the resources needed to succeed, both in and out of the classroom. Legacy students, you all have a bright future ahead, I can’t wait to see what you do next! CASEWORK SPOTLIGHT 5 As always, I am committed to serving you, advocating for issues that matter to our community, and connecting you to important resources. Warning: This email originated from outside the City of Anaheim. Do not click links or open attachments unless you recognize the sender and are expecting the message. Dear Neighbor, After a busy August recess, I returned to Washington to advocate for the voices that shape our community and our nation. From advocating for our lawful immigrant neighbors to demanding justice for survivors of Jeffrey Epstein, it was a busy week back to work in Washington. As I continue to bring your stories to the halls of Congress, I wanted to take a moment to show you what I’ve been working on. PUSHING TO DELIVER JUSTICE FOR EPSTEIN SURVIVORS 1 *click image to view social media post* Reps. Correa, Massie calling to release the Epstein Files I signed on to Congressman Thomas Massie’s discharge position to force a vote on the Epstein Files Transparency Act II. I again signed on to another one of Congressman Massie’s petitions because survivors and state Attorney Generals need the power to take the U.S. Attorney General to court and get answers. We cannot let sexual predators get away with sex crimes, in which many of their victims appear to be young children. The survivors deserve the truth. The public deserves the truth. And every name connected to this network deserves to face scrutiny and accountability. ADVOCATING FOR IMMIGRANT VOICES 2 Rep. Correa delivers remarks in Judiciary Committee I spent time in the House Judiciary Committee to push back against federal attempts to deport the lawful family members of those who serve our country. In August, the Associated Press reported that the White House’s immigration crackdown had detained more than 50 military spouses and parents. These are American soldiers who have taken an oath to protect this country, to make the ultimate sacrifice if needed. How will deporting their parents make our country stronger? I advocated for our soldiers and their family members and demanded answers — so that they can receive the justice that they deserve. KEEPING GOVERNMENT OPEN – WITHOUT LOOPHOLES 3 *click image to view social media post* Rep. Correa announcing his legislative update in front of the U.S. Capitol I voted in favor of the bipartisan continuing resolution to fund the federal government through December. This bipartisan bill is a clear improvement over the House version we voted on last month. Unlike the previous version, this bill does not include a backdoor to further fund Border Patrol or ICE. It also blocks the White House’s push to strip federal funding from schools and hospitals based on political loyalty rather than merit. I am proud to have voted to keep the government open, keep seniors fed, keep families housed, and block the White House’s latest power grab. HONORING THE LIFE OF CHIEF JOHN WELTER 4 Rep. Correa honoring the late Chief Welter on the House floor I honored the life of Chief John Welter, the 32nd Police Chief of the Anaheim Police Department. As Head of Anaheim police, Chief Welter made many contributions to the good people of Anaheim, including the creation of the Department’s first-ever Chief Advisory Council and the establishment of the John Welter Family Justice Center. Because of Chief Welter, the city of Anaheim is a safer, sounder, and more protected place. Central Orange County is deeply grateful for Chief Welter’s lasting contributions, and will continue to honor his legacy for generations to come. Dear Neighbor, After a busy last week in Washington, I returned to Orange County this week to work on behalf of the neighbors that shape our communities. From providing resources for our seniors and seeing local manufacturing in action, to connecting our diverse cultures and honoring the lives of those lost during the 9/11 attacks, I made sure to bring the important work from Washington back home. As I continue to bring your stories to the halls of Congress, I wanted to take a moment to show you what I’ve been working on. APPRECIATING ORANGE COUNTY’S SENIORS 1 *click image to view social media post* Rep. Correa hosting the Senior Appreciation Event in Santa Ana We have a duty to protect our seniors. This week, I hosted my Senior Appreciation Event to bring together federal resources, scam-prevention tools, and community partners to help our seniors stay informed, safe, and connected. Our seniors have earned the right to retire with dignity and security. I’m proud to continue fighting for the benefits and resources that they deserve. VISITING ORANGE COUNTY MANUFACTURERS 2 Rep. Correa stopping by WARCO Manufacturing I had the pleasure of paying a visit to my friends at WARCO Manufacturing. For those who don’t know, WARCO is a rubber manufacturer based right here in our district. It was wonderful to see their team in action and learn more about the important work they do to strengthen our local economy and create opportunities for our communities all across Orange County. WELCOMING THE TELOLOAPAN, GUERRERO MUNICIPAL PRESIDENT 3 Rep. Correa welcoming Teloloapan, Guerrero municipal president to the OC I had the distinct honor of Welcoming Narvel Mojica Sotelo, the President of the Mexican Municipiality of Teloloapan, Guerrero to the OC this week. As a proud Chicano, and a Representative of one of our nation’s largest Mexican-American communities, I consider it a priority to unite the cultures, histories, and communities that connect us. Presidente Mojica Sotelo, I hope you enjoyed your visit! REMEMBERING THE SEPTEMBER 11 ATTACKS 4 *click image to view social media post* Rep. Correa remembering the lives lost on 9/11 This year marks the 25th anniversary of the September 11th attacks, a day that changed our nation forever. We remember the nearly 3,000 innocent lives tragically lost on that fateful day — the civilians, service members, and first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice to protect us. That day, we saw the worst of humanity, yet the best of America in response. 25 years later, their memories will continue to live on, within each and every one of us. We will never forget. Lou Correa banner Dear Neighbor, Another week in Washington, another week working on behalf of the communities that call Orange County home. From celebrating the cultural traditions that unite us to empowering our future generation of leaders and holding our federal officials accountable, I made sure that your voices were represented — loud and clear. As I continue to bring your stories to the halls of Congress, I wanted to take a moment to show you what I’ve been working on. CELEBRATING THE COMMUNITIES THAT CONNECT US To help protect your privacy, Microsoft Office prevented automatic download of this picture from the Internet. Rep. Correa at the Fiestas Patrias in Santa Ana Before heading back to Washington, I was able to celebrate the communities that connect us at this year’s Fiestas Patrias in Santa Ana. This weekend-long, annual event celebrates Mexico’s Independence Day – honoring the rich cultures, traditions, and contributions of Orange County’s Mexican-American community. The Mexican community powers the spirit of Orange County, and this celebration represents the very best of us. What a fantastic way to celebrate the vibrant Hispanic and Latino communities that call Orange County home. I’m already looking forward to next year! Correa announces his ‘NO’ vote on expanding the President’s tariff powers I voted NO on a Russia sanctions bill that would expand the President’s tariff authority. I’ve been a strong advocate against the war that Russia has brought upon Ukraine, and I always have been. I’ll support real, non-partisan sanctions that hold Putin accountable, but I will NOT hand this president even more unchecked power. Sixty percent of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck. At a time when the nation is facing a cost-of-living crisis, unchecked tariffs have only been driving up prices across the board. I could not in good conscience support legislation that uses Ukraine as cover to expand Trump's tariff authority. EMPOWERING AMERICA’S LATINO ENTREPRENEURS To help protect your privacy, Microsoft Office prevented automatic download of this picture from the Internet. Rep. Correa leads a panel at the CHCI leadership conference As a proud son of Mexican immigrants, empowering America’s Latino leaders is a priority that I take personally. This week, I had the honor of joining my friends at the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI) to speak at a leadership panel dedicated to empowering America’s aspiring Latino entrepreneurs. Latino entrepreneurs represent the fastest-growing segment of U.S. small business owners — they supercharge our economy in California and across the nation. I was happy to pass along some words of wisdom and encouragement. What a great way to mark the start of Hispanic Heritage Month! SUPPORTING THE NEXT GENERATION OF CSU LEADERS To help protect your privacy, Microsoft Office prevented automatic download of this picture from the Internet. Rep. Correa meets with CSU Chancellor Mildred Garcia 2 I had the pleasure of hosting California State University (CSU) Chancellor, Mildred Garcia, in my Washington, DC Office this week. We discussed the many ways that we can support and advance the needs of our CSU students in Washington. From discussions on advancing federal funding and Pell grants to supporting research funding for our students, Chancellor Garcia and I spoke about ways that we can help our CSU students succeed and strengthen California’s economy. And of course, I had to shout out my alma mater, Cal State Fullerton. Go Titans!!
